Put my Power Max in last week, noticed a bad hesitation at WOT and set the check engine light with a 237, 1688, 1689 and one other. My guages are not insatlled as of yet as I am waiting for my oh so important fuel guage from either genos or wildcat... . so I don't know what my fuel pressure was, any ways last night got home, drove around to work on my loader. When I finished, got in, started the truck, it cranked longer than normal, then went into limp mode and had a miss. Then I drove around to the front of the house, stalled and thats all she wrote. Wouldn't start, and no noise coming from the lift pump. :--) I think it was weak, and the Power Max accelerated its death. Getting the pump today. This is my first lift pump replacement. How hard is it and do you guys have any tips? Thanks for any help guys

Just put one on last night, thanks RGilbert. Anyway, take the fuel filter housing bolts out, then move the housing out of the way a little. then get to the lift pump. Take the two fuel lines off first and don't lose the washers. undo the hold-down for the fuel line that is attached to the pump then take all three nuts off that hold the pump on. Next, unplug the harness and your old pump is out. watch out, it bleeds diesel fuel for a while. Put your new pump in the reverse of above. Plug the harness in, and position the pump anto the bracket. Now, put the three nuts on and tighten until they are snug, don't overtighten or you might strip the stud on the pump. Now attach the inlet fuel line making sure you have a gasket on either side of the banjo bolt and tighten until snug. Be very careful not to overtighten any banjo bolt as they will deform! Watch when you intall your fuel pressure gauge also. Hook up the hold-down bolt for the incoming fuel line then hook up the effluent fuel line with the banjo fitting and two gaskets. Tighten until snug. Now, reattach the fuel filter housing with the two bolts. Bump your starter and listen to the pump run once or twice. Fire it up and your done. Hope I didn't forget anything. Oh, yeah, kneel on the front bumper for access to the pump.

Thanks Jason,

I'm going to pick the pump in a little bit and will put it in when I get home tonight, hopefully everything will go well. Sounds pretty simple:D
