I am another new fella to the TDR--from Great Falls, Montana. Have subscribed to other lists and Boards in the past and have "lurked" here for several weeks. Great site!

Am a former 98 Dodge V-10 owner. Got rid of the V-10 after both heads needed to be replaced, and, after throwing a rod bearing in July while towing a 26' Jayco 5th wheel while vacationing in Puyallup, Washington area. All with less than 38,000 miles on outfit! No mods to engine. Dodge incidentally stood behind the repairs even though the truck was out of warranty

My new outfit is a 2001 Cummins, 5 speed, 3. 55 rear end, 265 tires, husky liners, mopar bug shields and mud flaps, trailer tow, overhead computer, HD transfer case, white over grey. Almost 200 miles so far! First partial tank of gas yielded 14. 75 MPG.

It is basically a grocery getter but will see lots of use in hunting season. Also tow a 26' Jayco 5th wheel which weighs @ 7,000 pounds loaded.

My thanks and appreciation to all those responsible for a site well run and maintained and to those responsible for the excellent posts which I considered as part of my purchase decision. Am looking forward to a fruitful and informative existence here!

14. 75mpg on the first tank? I bet your tickled pink to see that number after coming from a V-10. Don't worry, once it starts breaking-in,those mpg numbers will go up.
