Sort of.

Been lurking for a while, even figured out how to read the old threads that non-members are locked out of. :-laf

Just re-subscribed to the TDR,

a couple of years ago I was on with the username Roundhouse.

Was kinda looking for a truck then, but we bought a

"tear downer" house,

(the lender required a letter from a structural engineer stating the house posed no imminent danger to the occupants)

and that kinda sucked the savings acct dry for a couple of years.

I've owned several Cummins powered Internationals Freightliners & Ford LTL 9000's, & one 82 Rabbit diesel.

My daily driver for the last 11 years has been a 74 Bronco into which I transplanted a fuel injected 5. 0 from a 90 Mustang, and a 5 speed NV3550 from a '01 Wrangler, and front disc brakes from a 76 Blazer.

The Bronc is now totally worn out and needs a complete drivetrain rebuild( engine, trans, transfer case & rear axle).

Instead of putting the time and cash into a truck that is now too small to drive on trips with wife, child, dogs & luggage, & lacks the A/C I now need for my asthma, I'm looking for that elusive 98 QC 12 valve 5 speed, & this site has more info than all the rest combined.

Gotta be a 12 valve, since I had a less than pleasant ownership experience with electronic controlled Freightshakers

& has to be a 5 speed because in 94 I bought a 1992 Ram

4WD gasser and the trans never lasted longer than 18 months.

Thanks for such a great site, definitely worth the $$ to join.

Welcome aboard again. If you look in the classified ad's section there seem to be 1 or 2 '98 5 spd 12 V. Good luck.

Cheers Derek
