Diesel Dynamics DD2's and 30 mpg!

Let the hazing begin... I've converted from the dark side "Chevy", to join forces with the rebel force and I don't know why I waited so long. A fresh 2001. 5 6 speed eth, extra features, DD stage 3 injectors, EZ box and a Jardine exhaust system. Almost too much fun to drive, tailgaters beware hehe. . Hi to all the Nor-Cal boys and Special thanks to Blair and Nowel for waking the beast. JP
 
Hey smokescreen, good handle when you "get it in" at low boost. Great way to keep the riceburners off your tail. Welcome aboard !!!

Welcome to the TDR! Lot's of great folks/good info here. I'm kinda new myself, I'm also a 2001. 5 ETH owner. Talk to me about the DD 3, EZ edge combo, I'm going to add a box pretty soon, probably the EZ, followed by injectors. I was planning to be a little more conservative on the injectors, but if there's no downside with the 3's, may as well "go for the gusto". In your opinion, is there any downside to the DD 3's e. g. driveability problems, cruise control functionality, excessive smoke etc. ? I know the clutch won't last, but thats probably the case with virtually any mod. At least with the SB clutch there's an affordable solution to the ETH/DEE cllutch problems.

Howdy Redram, the only issue with the stage 3 injectors would be smoke, although there is a way to drive it without smoking. If you don't romp it when your below 2000 rpm, your ok. Freeway and hills does'nt seem to be an issue. Definetely worth the power, out of the rear wheels it jumped from 200hp @ 400lbs. to 320hp @ 650lbs. bpine knows quite a bit about these things. You might want to ask him the same. The South Bend clutch on is probably what your going to need, If you're interested I can dig the # up. . Take Care
 
hey smokescreen looks like you are ready for my twin turbo setup ( when its finally done) after all there is no such thing as too much power just to low of a gear

Hey Wiz, let's just borrow one of those tractor motors you got, how about the one with 3 turbos... Nowel has his twin set up running at the present time, looks very nice!! would'nt mind it myself.
 
Hey Brandon, the south Bend is a **** good clutch. Definetely does not slip, with 1500 miles on it there still is a little chatter but that only comes with lazy clutch work and at the rate it's been breaking in another 1500 miles and it should be gone. Pedal feel almost feels like stock but engages much sooner, great feel!!! I say go for it, make sure you get the clutch with the full feramic lining. Take Care, JP

[last week he had the sled weight full foward, sled brakes locked up, tractor brakes locked up and still pulled thru the end of the track and barriers]
And a correction for HVAC he ties the record

yea we switched injection pumps around the other tractor is still in pieces so we robbed the injection pump out of it the only catch is the one that stuck was set to put out about 800 to 900 cc's this new one is putting out 1100 cc so that sucker will flat boogie at ripon we only made 100 lbs of boost and went down the track at 3500 rpm so that tractor was running sick also stuck a plunger in the pump so the engine was running on 5 cylinders we got her ready to roll now though

Hey Rock Tumbler I have just what you need in my garage. A big box of soot additive that should bolt right on. Hey Gary wait until you see Jason's truck it is one of the nicest trucks you will ever see, it just doesn't get any cleaner.
