I thought I would share this anyone looking to keep the bottom of your truck oil free. Oo.

I know it is probably to big but bigger is better right?

It is still in the prototype phase and I am not even sure if it is still under the truck. I have to go out of town for a while and will check it when I get back.

Have a nice day,

Ben

Been using THIS for 30,000 miles:

And it's kept the underside of my truck looking like THIS:

... good enough for me... ;):-laf

Well to give an update to my project, it didn't work#@$%! I noticed today that there is oil coming from the breather on the top.

Any ideas????????????

I was thinking of puting a tube inside the inlet that would extend it down inside the tank alittle bit.

Thanks,

Ben

I made a breather bottle out of 1 1/2 abs with screw off cap 3/4 barb on one end and 1/4 breather hose on other with k&n motorcycel style crank case breather filter. no mess, just unscrew the cap end every once and awhile and drain the residue oil out. I'll try and post a pic, it is mounted under front core support, cant see it cant smell it.

I had a friend of mine try to open the links and it did not work for him either. I guess I need work on posting pictures.

NoSeeUm,

I saw your system and made mine the same way as your Jaz tank. What I found was the problem was the hose came straight to the tank and the oil in the vapors were being trapped in the air filter on top. What I did now is installed a screenwith a small piece of rag just in front of the inlet inside the tank. So far this seems to be working. Only 2 days since it was installed but I check last night and no oil coming out. Maybe $20. 00 into it but I had the steel laying around the house.

Hmm... Thats what I thought was supposed to happen.

What was the problem, the tank filter plugged?

Jim

Well it appears that when the oil was being trapped by the filter on top the air pressure was forcing it through the filer and it was blowing everywhere under the front of my truck. Now with the small piece of rag inside the inlet I was hoping this would catch the oil vapor and it would blow out of the rag into the tank. So far so good. My question is do you know if there is some sort of baffle inside the Jaz oil tank? I have never actually seen one in person only pictures. I am wondering how they keep the same thing from happening.

Thanks, Ben

No clue Ben, sorry. I'll pull my filter off and have a look at it, when I get a chance. I have no problems you describe.
