Well I've had the TST PMCR R49 online for about a week and a half. Love it. Fantastic mod. Easy to install and delivers a big performance gain.

Great. You've read that a thousand times before so I'll get to the point.

This morning was the first time I've driven the truck in the rain since I've added the TST. Now over my 48 years I've had many modified vehicles and right at the top of things that suck is driving them when the roads are wet.

This truck is my first diesel and the ability to change the power settings back to stock is a luxury that I've never had with any other vehicle I've ever owned.

And that, is why I like my 24v! People dont realize that while the 12v is a little more reliable, and power might come a little easier, but there is somthing to be said about being able to turn it on and off at will. I need my truck to be safe, and I do drop the box lower during Rain and such. You cant just flip a switch on the old 12v engine to drop your HP to a driveable level when there is a foot of snow. Granted, I can drive my truck on 5x5 in the snow, or on wet roads, just takes a little finese thats all. But anyway, I totally agree with you!

I'm trying to decide on a Smarty or TST for the 06. The adjustability is a big plus for the TST. Can't do that (quickly) with a downloader.

I'll do both when the Smarty becomes available for the 06s.

Smarty can do more than add hp and torque. It can be used as a OBDII scan tool to read and clear codes. It can also adjust the speedo for tire size changes and I believe it can turn torque management on/off.

Yeah the 1 day it rained here in Mtn Home :-laf I was getting on I-84 and about took out a cattle guard when I was turning and got on the throttle too much.

Yeah, thought about all that. I suppose one could load a low level smarty without timing then use the tst to adjust timing, us econo mode, or just dial up duration in addition to smarty. I personally don't like the idea of stacking things that do the same thing (i. e. duration and duration) but I suppose would it be fine as long as you didn't get crazy.

From what I've heard there are no power levels of Smarty that can be stacked on the TST with a stock auto trans.

I'm saving up my pennies now just so I can ramp up the TST. :)
