Sorry to hear about your son-n-law dscott. I have seen quite a few posts on here and NW Bombers going back at least 4 years warning that Bellevue Dodge wasn't any good to deal with.

I know if I ever bought new again Dishman Dodge would be my first pick, Mid-Valley Chrysler in Grandview a close second. Dave Smith was good to work with when I was shopping but I was disappointed in how they treated Power Wagon when he blew a flex plate near there in '02 and they were not helpful when he was in need.

Any chance you can get the part numbers they used for these joints?

-Ryan :)

They're Napa 351's (at least on the one ton 3 piece rear). I can get the stocking part number for you if you need it but you can tell any counterman at Napa p/n 351 and they'll know exactly what you want. Just smooth the sharp edges inside of the yokes with a round file and they drop right in. Lost the center joint on my 3500 this weekend and replaced them all for $27. 99 each. Doing the front shaft tomorrow after I cross the joints over to Napa numbers.

Sounds to me that they were simply doing their job and you're just whining. Sorry man, but such is life. The bumper to bumper warranty is over and it's deductable time. The reason is so you don't take your rig in for every little squeek and complaint. Sounds to me that these are unrelated complaints. I wouldn't have eaten the deductable as a service manager either.

LOL Your telling someone not to whine? Few weeks back you were whining about not getting your truck in time because of the g56 problems. Practice what you preach.

As for the dealer, for a PS pump to go out at 38k miles, they should have at least split the deductable with the owner. Warranties can suck sometimes. .

Erik, you'r Doctor Phil and Business Week all rolled into one! Psychology, economics, mechanical genius has left us all in awe. I found your insight and connection to the five year old mind of particular importance.

Tim, you are sooo wrong on this. This Dealer sucks and has no business talking down to a customer. You are the whiner. You were whining about not wanting to be reminded that you have a Dodge and that you bought a Cummins and they gave you a truck. Tim bud out, go dig a hole somewhere and get in it. Grizzly  :p

It's attitudes like this that create crappy experiences at dealerships.

I have purchased many new vehicles and the story is always the same when you are buying. The sales department talks up the dealership's commitment to customer satisfaction. But after the money has changed hands it becomes very hard to get much satisfaction at all. And it seams that it falls short in the service department most of the time.

However, I have found a dealership that goes way beyond the norm. Lybergers car and truck sales in Anchorage, AK, wrote me a check fully reimbursing me for a vehicle I bought there and was having trouble with. I owned the truck for more than 90 days but it kept having to go into the shop. The owner happily wrote me the check. I have since returned there and purchased 4 more vehicles. This is a little mom and pop shop dealership that frequently sells more cars in a month that most of the major dealerships in town. And they started doing that in their 3rd year of business, outselling dealerships that had been around for better than 30 years. Now tell me that customer service isn't important. :-laf

Hmmmmmm sounds to me like the dealer had PMS that day, if that was the quote and it had been me, there would have been a rumble for one, customer service is one thing but personally using insults is just unexcusable.

3 days to diagnose ujoint, any of us Farm boys can do that in a matter of minutes, frozen ujoints aren't hard to figure out, sounds to me like they enjoy milking it for all its worth and that is BS... ...

And i figure snide remarks are made by those that aren't Mechanically inclined :D

I've had people come in & read me the riot act, chew me up & down, call me names, insult my family, and when I say something to defend my position, I find myself in the dealer principal's office with the customer going over how I verbally assaulted the individual to the point of "gross mental anguish. " Apparently asking people to please calm down & be reasonable after they call you a "worthless ******* piece of **** who should die" is a no-no. :-laf

I don't think I could work in such an environment, and I have a great deal of respect for those who do.

You'd be amazed what kind of service you can get from people if you just empathize a little and treat them as you'd like to be treated.

-Ryan :)

Ryan is correct as we all really don't know the whole story and can only speculate. But i also has dealing with my dealer when my tracking bar went along with just the right side ball joints, when he said $2800. 00 i just laughed and said you have got to be kidding, he said nope i said well i will have to take it somewhere else that i wasn't going to take out a loan to fix my truck, he chuckled and agreed but i have always had good service when its been a have to case to take the truck in, which has been very very little. I basically take care of all that i can when it happens so that cuts down on my out of pocket flow, well basically what i consider being charged way way to much but thats in my eyes not theirs.

But i always believe in you treat pple as you want to be treated and if their not willing to play by that rule then i don't mess with them i move on.

Oo.

It's funny how after everyone says I'm a whiner, get over it, forget it, etc... . the shoe is on the other foot and now the guy is "justified" to whine.

Pathetic... .

But y'all are right... they had no business talking down to a customer, I'd ***** slap someone for even thinking about talking down to me.

At a 140 lbs and 5 foot 4, I'm not sure who you'd be able to ***** slap Tim :-laf

looks like that big flashing L on tims forehead is xtra bright these days. he's the biggest whiner on this site. at 30,000 miles my truck started to sound like it had an exhaust brake on it. i took it to the dealer and told em i thought it needed u-joints but was was willing to listen to their diagnosis. this was at 8AM. at 1:30 PM the same day i drove it home, all the u-joints replaced, no more noise, no charge at all, and the owner of the dealership even came out and talked w/me for a few minutes. admittedly this a small place. still... and to give credit where its deserved, it was at PETE SCROGGINS DODGE in GEORGE WEST TX, by corpus. and no, i didn't buy it there. you can bet i will in the future though.
