I just want the thank Mark K. and Jim F. for all the help. Just the pictures helped a lot. I got about 54psi today after only getting 15psi on my first run. I could not get the wastegate to stay shut, so I took of the boost hose. The exaust temp diidn't go over 1200 degrees with DD3s and the Comp on 5x5. It does have lag and it has a little more seat of the the pants difference but not a big difference. I think my FE is slipping a little. It was a lot of work and I mean a LOT. It was hard finding all the parts also.

Almost ready to do the final install.

Practice fit. I had the turbos in and out about 6 times and the big one weighs a ton.

Finished product. I had to remove tha battery because the tubing radius was to big. I am going to make another and then get it chrome plated and then try to install the battery again. It seems to start just fine. It doesn't get to cold here.

I couldn't believe the filter minder sucked all the way down. Some one said the BHAF doesn't flow enough. :D

T, good to hear you have it going, I think finding the parts is the biggest pain of all. The BHAF you have flows a little more than half of my AFE... . BHAF 915 CFM..... My AFE 1750+. Mark said he sucked oil out of his turbo before he stepped up in filter size. I'm like you, I'm going to buy the 90 degree small pieces and make mine even tighter then get that piece chrome'd or coated. DD3's a Comp on 5X5 and 1200 EGT..... lol.

Jim

I used a BHT3B and the stock turbo with the wastegate welded shut. The wastegate is a Turbonetics and I think it is a 42mm. The wastegate still needs some tweeking.

What type & size of exhaust material did you use and where did you get the stainless braides exhaust bellows from? There is a company here in TX that repairs aircraft ducting that I am thinking about contacting for some parts. Again. SWEET SETUP. CONGRATS!!!:) :D

Hey man, that looks great!! Congrats on the install! Just give it a while. Once you learn the feel of them, you'll have a lot of fun, and the lag will almost disappear.

Jim, now that I have the auto, I've been trying a few of the tips that you gave me about driving with the twins... wow . Thanks!!!

To pass someone, just tap the brake for a second to unlock the convertor, nail the throttle and VROOM, off like a rocket. Hey, where'd he go? :D :-laf

Whistleman, you don't want to know what the intake bellows is. (Flexable dryer vent. :D ) It is temporary until I remake the top pipe. Then I have to get a better filter that flows more air. I'm trying to stay away from a K&N but it may be my only choice to flow enough air. The piping is just mandrel bent exhaust pipe. It is pretty expensive but works nice. The pipe for hooking the two turbo's together is schedule 40 weldable gas or water main pipe. The exhaust is completely 5" including the down pipe.

Justin, it is not my design. I copied it from others on this site. I like to think that I improved it a little but who knows. Time involved is hard to say. I think I have about 40 hours in just building the system and then about 20 hours in finding all the pieces. I thought the oil pressure lines were going to be the hardest thing to find, but the rubber drain tube for the turbo was the hardest. I found some but it was about $35 a foot.

It keeps the smoke down, let's you get to 10 PSI instantly!

JT, I had the AFE at my door step in one week!

Jim, I go to Eastern Oregon for fishing and have fun and there is a lot of Volcanic dust and fine powder, especially following someone on a logging road. I just don't trust the K&N. I might make a switchable setup so I can switch between the two. When it rains in the winter I don't worry as much. Any time you want to visit and go fishing let me know.

Jon, is your stock turbo a 9cm or a 12cm exhaust housing? Did you say you have more lag now than before the twins or less.

It looks good!

Thanks,

Treven.

"Dont want to use a K&N"

It looks like you have enough room. You could put the smaller version of the BHAF where the stock airbox was with a heat shield, and fab up a "Y" pipe to allow using both filters for intake.

Thanks Mark.

Mundgyver, I e-mailed you my phone number and were I live.

Whistleman, it is a home made boost controller that is not installed any more. I need to do more testing and see if the wastegate is opening on its own. Been busy at work and haven't had the time. You can do a search on the net and learn how to make them. I think I may try to make one to use as a fuel pressure regulator.

Treven, I believe it is a 12mm housing. I think that is what comes stock with a 5spd. I do have more lag know under 2,000 rpm's. I need to work the bugs out. I haven't had the courage to call Piers and ask him how to clean up the turbo's. I want to take it all apart and get it perfect and get some stuff plated. But I have to get the wastegate working first before I do it.

Got to go party for the night. :D Well have a few beers. :D Getting to old for the hard partying.
