First let me say that I just finished the install (about 4-4. 5 hours) And those who are wondering the Pacbrake fits pretty good (just had to grind about 1/4in off unless you reclocked the compressor housing slightly) This turbo is as close to a 100% drop in as it gets I also put a standard boost elbow in it (as for Justin W's tip) and its a good one. I only have about 20 miles on it and...

I first started my truck up and noticed right away that it sounded quieter (less stress from backpressure?) I blipped the throttle and its WAY more responsive and has a deeper tone in nuetral, turbo whine is a deeper rushing sound, truck has more pep or response right off idle, more like a 12v.

90 deg and pretty humid for both #'s.

Stock charger at 60 mph 1900 rpm would get about 600-630 egts cruising with about 8lbs of boost

SPS 66 same as above with 690-730 (its more sensitive in the mid range) but about 100 deg hotter and about 4-5lbs boost.

THIS TURBO SPOOLS INCREDIBLY FAST!!!!

I cant get over how fast it spools up, TST on 0/0 can hit 35 lbs right now! 5/5 can get about 45 lbs but still TRYING to take it easy on it for a bit.

TST on 5/5 the temps get warm quick at 1/2 throttle, 900-1000 (where before was about 7-800) but then it hits a wall at 1000, The hottest I have got was 1100 on 7/7 (not running hard but not easy either) The motor seems to work less, and it sounds louder or more drone from the exhaust at 1/2 throttle or less(I think because its running more on motor than boost) but dont get me wrong this thing spools just like stock! at about 8lbs it lites and goes. Before with the stocker and on 5/5 boost would scream up as with power then flatten off at a certain throttle position, now power is WAY smoother and better when I would smoke people out before now is just a very light haze! Remember I have one of the very first TST boxes, with the original programing, its aggressive but it still lacks the bottom end that the twins program has and it still makes this turbo take off like a rocket IMO. Even stock it spools good, I am going to try to get a pressure box to get some more bottom end and go from there, and I think it will help cool off that midrange warmth.

I will try to hook up to something to see how hot the midrange EGT's get and I will report later, plus I have some pics.

All these pics and articles of the SPS 66 is driving me bonkers !

Stop It !

Stop It !

Stop it, I say !

I thought I wanted twins...

Then I thought I wanted a Sledpuller...

But now I know what I need! I can't wait to get one of these PS66's!

how bout you pull that sps66 off your 600 and put it on your 12V and lemme know how it works??? ;)

That was a good writeup, and great pics to go with it. thanks for the input, keep us posted.

Can you post pics of it installed in your truck from up top and wheel well views if you get a chance? I was looking at the Industrial Injection 3rd gen white truck at Bully Dog and their install of the PS66 looked very clean, i. e. factory looking pipes, compared to how I had to install the HT line of turbo! I had my camera with me, but forgot to take pics. They mentioned that they would be setting up the PS66 kit to be direct bolt in rather than the field fit type. Not like I'll be getting a PS66 as I am done with mods...

for a while

Yeah I need to recharge my camera because it died, but I do have the pacbrake installed so it does block the view from the top. Ind. Inj. is right about this being a drop in turbo! I didnt do anything special to mount this turbo up.

so how would this sp66 compare to a b104? bolt in fit? spooling? reliability? price?

[the b104 was what i was eyeing for myself, but this seems to look good too]

The B1 was going to be my choice as well, till justin got his hands on the PS and well I think I should let him tell you. But IMHO this turbo is awesome!

Industrial injections website says the sp66 supports 350-685 hp. How much horsepower will a B1 support? Or in my case I was looking at the B1-2-04-w

There have been a couple guys dyno the B1-04 just shy of 600HP on #2, but realistically it can support 425-450 sustainable HP

By the same token, the Industrial Injection Turbo may be able to dyno upwards of 685, but sustained HP will be another story. I would guess 500HP

The B104 is a good solid 450rwhp-500hp turbo, but yes temps start getting up there.

Benefits: spools extremely fast, very tough, and is wastegated.

Features: 62mm compressor wheel, 60mm+/- turbine wheel, 12cm wastegated. Straight bolt up.

Industrial injection SPS 66:

Benefits: Spools very fast as well just a little later in the rpm. Supports upwards of 50+psi. Very tough as well, wastegated.

Features: 66mm compressor wheel, 70mm+/- turbine wheel, 14cm wastegated housing (12cm optional). Straight bolt up.

I dont regret having purchased either turbo. Both are very similar in appearance and the B1 served me extremely well.

Just by sheer size the 66 is more suited to my tastes.

If you want to tow heavy alot I would suggest a 62mm compressor wheel.

II can hook you up with that too.

If you want a go fast hot-rod turbo get the SUPER PHAT SHAFT 66!

My II took me 350+' tonight!! Pulled real well until I was redflagged going out the gate.

Turbo is still alive with 2 hooks on it! :-laf Oo.

Since the Pacbrake hooks up to this thing, I take a Jacobs brake will also, correct? For heavy towing 12 or 14 housing ?

Yes I do. Mine will be ordered on Monday. Hope it stands up to the specs. I am aiming for about 550rwhp :D , I think the guys at HotRodDiesels are aming a little higher.
