I cut the muffler/resonater off tonight and I'll be going to the exhaust shop tomarrow to get the straight pipe made up. Right now the exhaust ends right under the rear floor.
You know I just had to drive it though #ad
I couldn't keep the stupid grin off my face, especially on the up shifts. Boy does that turbo sound sweet!

i have the janatte 4 inch exhaust with a walker muffler. i'm taking the truck to a muffler shop today also to have my muffler removed. i hope it's loud enough!he,he,he... james...

'95 2500 Ext. Cab, 2wd 3. 54 limited slip, auto, TST #6 230/605 plate, BD low stall T. C. , K&N air filter. 3" straight piped, cat ran away with the silencer ring. I have to tell you, I LOVE MY TRUCK!!!!!!
 
I had mine in the dealership this morning for annual inspection. I got there early when noone was around. When I left, I pulled it out of the garage myself and you should have seen all the heads turn as the turbo started singing up and down the musical scale! #ad

As of 5-19-01, 68,522 miles.
 
do you guys recommend cutting off the resonator along with muff. . of just the muff???
BTW: which one is the resonator?
 
Joesoot, some guys have had a resonance or droning sound after removing the resonator. I left mine in and have no drone at any RPM, and it is plenty loud. I would recommend leaving the resonator in.

Hyper, on a 24 valve there is no catylitic convertor, it is a resonator. 12 valve engines do have a convertor and no resonator.
 
Well I got the pipe made and installed it. I'm a little disappointed, I cann't hear the turbo as much with the pipe running to the rear fender. Boy I had lots of turbo sound when it dumped right under the cab. A freind told me he could hear the turbo pretty good when he was behind the truck though.
I removed my resonater. I'd thought about leaving it in but I didn't want to hassle with a 4" to 3" reducer. I figured I can reinstall it if I decide I need it.
