And I wonder how to get the hub off safely? - Maybe very liberal wd-40?

i think i read a thread about using an extension and placing it between the hub and the frame and then turning the truck on and turning the steering wheel to pop the hub off. It's crazy enough it just might work.

I think you might be on to something... I will have to see if things line up and try it ;)

I used this method on a 2nd gen with more then 180k on the clock.

It works.
