Maybe somebody noticed this already - but I was looking at a new 02, 6 spd and notived that the camper package has been cheapened as well. The extra helper springs only has 1 leaf now not 2 as on my 01! I looked very carefull, the 1 isn't extra large to make up for not having 2, it's simply looks like they don't give you the 2nd one anymore!

My 01. 5 has a one leaf helper on it but it is tapered. This gives the spring a progressive rate instead of a constant spring rate.

Our 01' 3500 HO 6 speed only has one helper. It looks like a heaver spring than the 2 springs on my 2000. I have heard there is more temper in the one than was in the 2 leaf package. Don't know if there is any truth to this or not.

All I know is our 2002 rode like CR@P compared to our 1996 3500 until I installed the Rancho 9000's. Unloaded, the 2002's front end bounced up and down (and up and down and - you get the idea) over every bump, and the rear end was hard as a rock. Loaded (pulling the 5ver), the front end still bounced up and down, but now the rear end was in a constant up-and-down motion as well - since the frequencies of the front and rear were different, it was guaranteed to make anyone carsick!!

Running the Rancho 9000's at 3(front) and 2(rear) when unloaded and 4(front) and 5(rear) when towing has completely transformed the truck! I don't understand why the 2002 was so much worse from the factory than our 1996.
