I am currently sourcing new tires. I would like to know if anyone has used Toyo tires and if so how was the performance and wear both on and off road? I am considering the Open Country AT LT285/70R17 121S stock # 301480. I am also considering the Toyo OC MT 35X12. 50R17 125QE/10 stock #360310. Any comments from those of you that have actually used or currently use these tires will be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Andy

I just bought a set of 35 12. 5 r 17 Toyo's OC mt's last friday. I am really impressed with them so far, they balanced out with very little weight and ride really smooth( for a mud tire) The only issue I (wife) have so far is how loud they are on the road, I really don't mind that factor since I finally have an E- range(3650 ea. ) tire that can handle the weight! Also there could be a wait to get them, it took 4 mo. to get mine.

I have the A/T 285-70-17. I've only had them for 3 weeks. They are quiet on the highway and have better traction than the stock BFG's.

They have the same weight rating as the stockers, but they drive totally different. The soft sidewalls make them ride smoother, but they feel really loose.

They are supposed to be coming out with the 126 rated tire (3750#) for the rest of the country later this year. Right now they are only available on the west coast. It is a 10 ply tire that will probably ride more like the stock tire.

I probably won't be buying another set of the 121's. Hopefully by the time I need another set, the 126's will be out and will have some good reviews.

Also if you are towing heavy, I would stay away from this tire.

126s

Oops I copied the wrong info. The 285 tire I needed to know about is listed on Toyo's website and is LT 285/70R17 126S Stk# 301480. This tire is rated at 3750lbs @ 80psi. Is this a load range E tire?

Toyo's website shows this tire(35X12. 50R17 125Q E10 stk#360310) weighing 83lbs!! Is that correct? Also don't you think this tire looks amazingly like the Cooper mud tire?
