Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) trans hunting between shifts

Ok guys I have a 2001 2500 4x4. I was having issues with it not shifting from 1st to 2nd engine would rev high but would not shift. I had to let off the pedal and then it would shift. 2-3-4 shifted ok but not great. Shifted into reverse fine. I changed the transmission fluid and filter about 800 miles ago and it was shifting fine before a week ago. So after doing some online research I figured it might be the governor pressure sensor and solenoid. I replaced that tonight along with the filter now it shifts great from 2-3-4 and all but it is still not shifting from 1st to 2nd. The truck has 280,000 on it I just got it a few months ago. From the the Carfax it showed that the transmission was replaced at 154,000. All the trouble shooting charts I find online don't really address what mine is doing.

Anyone have anymore ideas?

Replace the Output Shaft Speed Sensor. Their less than $20.00 and takes about 3 minutes to change.

Ok I changed the output speed sensor and it is still doing the same thing. Anyone else got any other ideas. I really hate throwing parts at it. I do have a scangauge II and i am not throwing any codes.

Sorry.

Mine did this for over a year. Thought it was just a by-product of my 12V/24V conversion until I replaced the OSSS. Now it shifts great.

Bands should be adjusted every time the pan is dropped for a filter change/flush. You can try adjusting the outer (front) band since that controls 2nd gear to see if it makes a difference.

Well I adjusted the bands and the TV cable. It helped a little bit but the front band is maxed out and on its last leg and the rear has some room but not much. Also the transmission fluid was dark already. So it's only a matter of time before it needs to be rebuilt. I am planning on just doing it my self since they want so much for a decent rebuilt transmission. I guess this week I am going to start getting together a parts list a pricing stuff. Thanks for all the help guys.
