To give you an update, I did have the Aisin torque converter replaced under the powertrain warranty, and oh my gosh it fixed the issue. So nice to be able to put the pedal down and not have that roaring anymore. I guess the torque converter was the problem! And all this time I've been chasing things like heat shield vibration, ring and pinion out of wack, exhaust drone, etc.

As an update to this thread, in addition to the comment I just made above about the torque converter, I got the MD Distributors actuator installed with no problems. Runs great, and for the price I am happy. Hopefully it holds up.

As for the issue with my MaxCare warranty, the original dealer that I purchased it from refunded it back to me in full, as they came to the same conclusion I did which was that my truck wasn't covered from the beginning due to the flatbed. So, with only 9 months of that warranty left anyway, I'm pretty ok with how that turned out.

Sarcasm? It was in reference to my other comment above regarding the torque converter replacement. Nothing to do with the actuator.

Great you are fixed! One of the few AISIN issues I have heard of.
