Like the title says i have have big plans for my 01. 5 2500 CTD Auto. I would like to have around 500 RWHP, hopefully the following mods will get me there. First i am going to get a full billet DTT transmission to get the power to the ground. For the motor I would like to go with a smarty controller with a drag Comp, Mach 4 injectors, ATS manifold, Super phat shaft 62. The questions i have are will this combo get me there? How much boost can I expect and will i have to oring the head? I have had the lift pump replaced with the new in tank pump, can i still run a FASS or RASP with this? Thanks alot in advance.

Whoooaa there turbo! Easy!

First, fill out that signature to tell us what kind of truck you have. Is it a stick? 6 speed? If it's a 6 speed, you have an ETH.

ETHs (High Output 2001-2002) Hate to Bombed in the traditional way. Be careful. If it's an automatic ( which I think I read ) It's an SO. An SO is an easier build up, but be careful of that transmission. I'd start there.

Welcome to the TDR!

Like ThrottleJockey said "Fill in the signature" so we can better help you.

But from what you have listed, you should be around 500 easy. As far as boost goes, from what I have read, you would be looking at 40-50psi maybe little more. So O-ringing would be in your near future. The FASS or RASP are both good systems, but I wouldn't know if you could use them with an "in tank" lift pump. I'm sure some more knowledgeable people will chime in. Again Welcome to TDR!

Thanks for the responses, The first thing i am going to do is get the full DTT treatment then comes all the fun stuff. Is the EDGE Drag Comp the best thing to run with the smarty or is there something better? Also is o-ringing the head only going to to hold 40-50 psi? Thanks again for the replys.

The general concensus, based on how the Smarty(previously known as Catcher) works, is that trucks run smoother if the timing is brought on by the ECM, the way Smarty does it, rather than by a timing/fueling box like the Comp. This has led to Smarty combos being made with fueling only boxes, like Blue Chip's FMS or Redline boxes, or TST's Powermax boxes. That doesn't mean the Comp won't work. Smarty can program the ECM to not have timing advanced and let the Comp do it if you're set on a Comp.

Basically, since you don't have either one yet, you can still decide which base you want to start from. Smarty + Fueling box, or Smarty + Comp, or Comp alone, Smarty + big injectors(my plan). Now that the Catcher software is in an adjustable format in the Smarty and can be turned off, there is essentially no downside to starting you're plans with it.

But the Smarty isn't available yet, so, shhhh! ;)

I believe that o-ringing is good to 65psi, maybe more, I'm not really sure. But combine the o-ringing with a better gasket and some head studs; it will be more than enough for your plans.

With 500 horse at the wheels (hopefully) will i need to do all of the billet shafts or could i get away with just the billet input. I do not plan to do any sledpulling because this truck is my daily driver so it is only going to see the occasional dragstrip and street and towing use. Thanks for all the info this site is great.
