And the answer is... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... it is greasable.



You can see the fish-eye fitting in the first pic, the shiny thing on the middle of the ball and socket deal.



I ordered a new front shaft for my truck, and figured I'd just order an '05 shaft just incase it is greasable. BTW: not a bad deal, the whole shaft all 3 joints and the front and rear flanges shipped to my door for 175 bucks.

What do you use to get grease into the fitting? A needle greaser? The owners manual on my 05 says it is "permanently greased" after you read it per the little sticker under the hood.
 
I put a rebuild kit in one for an 02. Both crosses and the center ball. The two crosses were greaseable after that but still nothing for the center ball. Appears they fixed that in 05.

You have to drill the center if you want it to be greaseable. Alot of aftermarket d-shaft companies do that for rebuilt shafts.
