Are there any items on the aftermarket that help boost an antenna signal, and ACTUALLY work?

Please don't say XM/Sirus I don't believe in paying for free radio.

Mark, I havent done it yet, but have the parts to, I am going to set up one of my Dual 4' Firesticks for my radio, and the other for my CB. I have heard of some people having good luck with this setup, I am anxious to try it

A few years ago Radio Shack sold a booster for car stereo's and it actually worked pretty well. Not sure if they still sell it.

Before you go anywhere - might want to check your oem antenna ground, the "diversity tap" to the windshield trace, and the cable into the radio. Any of these thingys can drop your reception. My dad (engineer) would have said "an antenna is just 1/2 of a capacitor with the earth as the other plate" anything that disrupts that capacity disrupts reception. On boosters- some are great, and the rest just bring up all the noise on the band (AM or FM) and make your radio lose its discrimination (what makes it lock one signal/frequency)… BTW the manual specifies a resistance between the antenna ground and the battery neg.
