Do I need to use any Anti-cavitation additive in my coolant? This is my first diesel. 2004,5. 9 HO. Thanks for any Info !! coobie:D

No. That is a Ford PS problem. Overtime the PS would develope tiny cavitation holes in the cylinder wallls if the additive wasn't used. The Cummins doesn't suffer from the cavitation problem.

This is the answer from the cummins site.

We do not recommend an additive for the Cummins engine used in the Dodge Ram. Coolant additives are used to protect liners from cavitation and since the engine in the Dodge Turbo Diesel has no liners, it does not require an additive.
