CI4 & CI4+ oil is still alive and well

#1 Diesel vs blended

It's been almost a year since you posted. Are you still happy with it and where did you get it? The station i get my fuel adds anti-gel. Depending on the month the fuel is treated down to -30. I have not had any problems, but that doesn't mean there's not something better out there.

I’ve been running diesel out of passenger car filling stations since 1997. Although I’m not in an arctic climate, I can get bit by a gel up in single digit temps. It’s never happened to me. I add stanadyne performance formula time to time, but never an anti gel.
I don’t see Schaefer products by me, but I hear its premium stuff.

I use the ULSW in the winter and CTPS through the summer.
My situation is also different than most, I have fuel delivered to the house and it can sit for 2-3 months. Even if I went back to purchasing from fuel stations I'd probably be inclined to continue its use.

I live in Alaska and have stopped using additives since about 2010. I was having sticky injectors in my 06’s and after stopping the use of valvoline Cummins fuel injector cleaner and power services my engines ran fine and idled better. I’ve not had a single injector failure since I’ve stopped using additives. There are folks who really believe you need cleaners and additives but I am not one of them. When it comes to gelling, that’s a different story. If you have #1 available, just run that. If you can only get #2, you have no choice but to run additives. YMMV
