oops I also forgot to ask i have not jacked the back up to check but my build tag said 3. 73 and thats it does this mean I dont have a lsd!!!!

I too have this complaint. This axle does not work anywhere close to the LS axle I had on my 95 RAM 1500. There is a post on here that explains the LS. After reading and trying to understand, I have come to the conclusion That this may be a good axle in the long run. It does not spin both tires as did my 95 from a dead stop on slick ground. But once moving, it does spin both. I think it might be better since it does not use clutches that I would associate with slippage/heat/wear. Just my 2 cents.....

Mine works good with a heavy foot, I tested it one day without trying in a turn lane. Smoked all four rear tires... I can make the rear slide in turns even with a dually. Off road it does well, I pull loads up wet hills coverd in grass. I have not experianced the open diff like performance. It does work less than my other truck with the locker. That thing will slide around much more off road while pulling. So far, I prefer the LS for towing. The locker is brutal sometimes with heavy loads.
