On several gas vehicles I've had, I cut the main power wire to the fuel pump relay, then ran to a switch hidden under my dash (or even one of those old head light dimmer switches placed out of sight under the front carpet mat). This way someone would need to have the keys AND know the location of the secret switch in order to start the vehicle. This method is more convenient than pulling a fuse – and it’s easy to hit for quick stops etc. I have found a secret switch to be helpful as a theft deterrent as well as keeping teenage kids from joy riding when adults are not home. My question for our Diesel trucks; what to kill? The electric fuel pump only feeds the filter and back side of the main fuel pump – I don’t want to damage anything or need to prime the system should there be an attempt to start the truck with the electric pump OFF. I see a starter relay fuse…. perhaps kill the starter relay? I don’t want to do damage. I guess I could try pulling the fuse and attempt to start the truck. Any thoughts anyone?

I personally would try the starter relay fuse first and see if it throws codes etc. These new trucks are so integrated that they know if you pass gass (I think :D ). On one of my trucks in the past I did the kill switch, but instead I pulled the wire going to the horn and connected it to the starter relay. No one is going to intentionally hit the horn if they are stealing the truck or sneaking out for a joy ride. All I had to do was turn the ignition on then hit the horn to start.

Starter relay would be the way to do it. A little plug you pull out and take with you would pretty much solve the problem.

Do the new trucks still have the clutch switch by-pass jumper(under the dash) on auto??? I cut that jumper used that with a circuit feature on my aftermarket remove door lock kit to disable the starter. If the truck is not unlocked with the fob it will not turn over. SNOKING
