antifreeze shower

Decided to change out my bad thermostat yesterday. Loosened drain petcock half turn while pulling and got no results. Went another half turn and got the petcock in the bucket and the antifreeze in my face. Well, with one hand I'm trying to find the plug in the 5 gallon bucket, while with the other I'm reaching up there trying to find a hole to stick my finger in. You had to be there to appreciate it(I can't stop laughing to type this) I managed to get 3 gallons in the bucket and another on me,and in every orifice above the waste Anyway don't go that extra half a turn when draining your antifreeze.



I decided this was a good time to do my cooling system

sevice. Replaced with Rottella extended life. Now I shouldn't have to touch that valve for 600,000 miles Oo.

600k really? I may have to check into this, sound like an interval I could live with, or maybe be out lived with.

Great stuff. 600K miles total with the extender package added at 300K miles. Kinda looks like strawberry kool-aid.

Still have the bullet hole in tailgate.



Got the juice at WalMart. Kind of pricey(7. 98 gal premixed)

but don't have to change yearly.

I ended up bleeding when I drained my radiator, that petcock can be really hard to turn and pull at the same time. Just about the time I got enough wheaties on it I slipped and whacked a couple of knuckles pretty good. I would have preferred getting coolant all over me!



I bought the Rotella ELC for just under $4 a gallon at the local farm and fleet store.
