Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Antifreeze

I went to my local NAPA store and asked for the Fleetguard 50/50 antifreeze. He had a brand called Fleet Charge 50/50.

He says this is the same thing, but I really need to be sure.

If it's not the same, where can I find the Fleetguard?

I wouldn't trust those guys at Napa when it comes to the "off" brands. Personally, I would spend the few extra bucks to get the real thing.

You can buy Fleetguard antifreeze at Cummins.



Some other options for quality antifreeze are:



John Deere Cool Guard 50/50 (any JD dealer)

Caterpillar's brand of antifreeze (any CAT dealer)

Shell ELC (I think that is what it is called. You can get it at Wally World)



These are just a few other options if you can't come up with the FG stuff.

I like ELC

Good for 600k mi with an extender at 300K.

If you have a Case/International tractor dealership, they will have Fleetgaurd filters and the antifreeze.

Thanks for the help guys. I will look into the ELC at Wally World. I also did a search and discovered the correct method of draining and flushing the system, will also change T-Stat to 180 deg.
