Competition Any 1/4 miles times with 600 and a Predator Stage 2?

Competition Redram DESTROYED in NW PA Final Three.

When I got my truck I told myself I wouldn't add any programers until the truck was off warranty. However my friend just added a Stage 2 predator module to his 2003 SO Dodge and he is quite happy with it. He now has a faster more powerful truck, that gets significantly better fuel mileage then my 600. I am considering getting a Predator module for myself, mainly for the mileage increase, but the added benifit of of once again having the faster truck will also be nice. In addition another friend just got himself a new Mazda 3. If I do add a programer it would be nice if it made my truck faster than the Mazda which suppose to run high 15's in the 1/4 mile. My question is: Will the 85 hp Stage 2 module make my truck faster than the Mazda 3, or will I need to step up to the 110hp Stage 3?

Might want to read a few other posts first.

This site is filled with good info on aftermarket accessories. There are much better options than the one you have mentioned. I have had customers come in with the Predator products, after realizing the facts of diesel performance they felt like the victim of a predator.

Why would you say that? The predator module is one of the best on the market, producing a great hp gain and a small increase in mileage, with out permanently marking you computer and thereby risking voiding your warranty. you should understand that loaders , no mater who ever its, is leave a trace behind ,even when you completely remove the program, the manufactures are aware of everybody's product , and have a picture of Every product and what signs to look for , to see if a performance enhancing product has been installed. I race out of a dodge dealership, with a ford store attached. I have looked at the books available to the tech, and service adviser's, and have read the notes these guys are bringing back from training seminars. Big brother. IE manufactures are actively looking, and in some cases rewarding tech for telling on owners for this kind of activity. The loader leaves a check digit that indicates a flash has been installed, and if the central dealer link doesn't have a record of that flash, you may possible in future will be getting a voided warranty letter in the main. The predators module goes between the sensors and the computer and reformulates a signal to basically lie the computer and achieve a power gain, the computer never knows its there and when you remove the module there is no trace of having ever been there. I personally have send the predators module make 110 hp at the rear tires with no smoke and depending on how its driven a small increase in fuel economy

Well, I found a web page that calculates 1/4 mile times at http://bigness.appliedtheory.com/shelby/hp_calc.html I punched in a few numbers and this is what it calculated

Weight, rear wheel hp, 1/4 mile

7500 350 16. 17

7500 380 15. 74

7200 280 17. 2

Looks like it will be a close race, but I will probally need the Stage 3 to beat him. In the September Motor Trend, they got a 1/4 mile time of 16. 5 with an auto. They listed the curb weight of 7020, so I punched in a race weight of 7200lbs, and a rear wheel hp of 280 hp and got a 1/4 time of 17. 2. So it looks like like this calculator is a little off for our trucks with an auto, but I figure the estimates will be quite close when a 6-speed is used. What do you all think?

This my argument based on my opinion and individual testing. Unless they (Predator) have changed in the last month or so, they boost rail pressure just like any rail pressure box. There is no miracle being performed in any of them. Just check the EGT's on a rail pressure box that makes 100hp. The Predators that I have seen dont even have a boost fooler built in. I have had every box that I could get my hands on, straped to the dyno and have seen the egt's and hp numbers. I have a copy of a predator ad sitting right here and most of it is pure BS. Anyone that tells you they can bump your HP 130HP and in the same ad tells you that gauges are not necessary is spewing BS.

I think you could be faster then what these people are telling you.

My old truck

2002 2500, HO, 6 speed(235hp-505tq) 4X4, quad cab, LB, 4. 10's, 295BFG(34's) stock w/ Edge EZ(65hp)

and I was running 16. 4 and I had to let off and ease it into 5th gear.

You will be at least into the 15's if you launch in 4Hi w/ a little boost.

Just my opion.

Hell I ran 14. 9 in my 99 stock w/ drag comp and DTT transmission
