Well, since I'm so close I'll post this now. 99445 as of this a. m. Will turn 100k this weekend. Lift pump dead at 68k, no idea how long since that is when I installed fuel press. gauge. VP went out at 74k. That's been it. Truck has not been to the shop for anything else. Steering is tight and straight. OEM Michelins lasted 85k and had a little left. Orig. batteries. Orig. brakes--had them checked at 95k and still at 40%. Mechanic figures I'll get to 140k on the brakes. EZ installed since 35k. I installed Rancho 9000's at 22k and believe they helped prevent steering problems. Approx. 50% of the miles were towing 10k+.

94000--bombing started at 50-odd thousand.

one LP replaced, one front hub/bearing.

Purrs like a very large kitten. I took a young mechanic for a ride. Later I asked his boss what the boy thought. He said, "Man I think you scared him. " :D :p

104k no mechanical problems

103k replaced original batteries with Die Hards

102k installed Boost/EGT gauges, waiting on Isspro FP gauge

95k new shocks, new REAR brakes -- fronts still going strong

90k 6 new OEM Michelin tires (Towne Fair Tire)

80k headlight switch melted

20k replaced leaky steering box under warrantee

2k tightened LF axle bolts which were loose from factory (apparently manufactured Fri afternoon or Monday morning)

Next step TST PM3 adjustable + Mach 2 EDM injectors (box first, then the injectors).

Fingers will be crossed for the first 5mins after tapping pump wire.

Tim

So far so good!

119k miles. Auto trans at 108k, Replaced with a DTT like DC should have put in it! Front brakes at 96k, lift pump at 94k, cracked exhaust manifold at 90k. I have the #53 block but am not too worried. Love the truck more every day! When this one wears out... ... Probably another 15 years or so I'll buy another or just go through this one top to bottom and replace this block with a non #53 just for piece of mind.

Nothing, Pulls like a CUMMINS!

:D :D :D

Update....

I have a '99 with 152,300+. One lift pump at 87,000. VP44 replaced at 136,000 second lift pump replaced at 138,000. One MAP sensor at 104,000. Replaced front brake pads and surfaced rotors at 152,000

Other than the above, no problems and as happy as I can be. I tow between 10 and 15K regularly. FP & EGT gauges installed January 2003. EZ installed February 2003.

Thinking about a new '05 once this one is paid for.

122,200. 2 sets of front brakes, 4 sets axel seals, Rear Yolk rebuild (still pending). 1 Lift Pump, Routine Maintainance. Nothing more, much better than any other brand at this mielage.

99 with 109k. 2 lift pumps and 1 rear axle seal. Cracked exhaust manifold. Took out the lock up clutch on an early old style bd tc. Rv injectors went in @ 10k and the first wire-tap box went on @50k. The second wire tap [comp] went on @80k. Still on the factory vp44. :D

113,000 at this time on this one. No problems other than track bar and one lift pump.

Traded a 98. 5 at 154K

2 Lift pumps then one injector pump @ a little over 100K

Bought mine about 2 months ago with 140k on it. As of this evening I have 145,500 on it. Replaced lift pump at 142k, diff and trannie fluid @ 145k, and replacing the shocks as soon as I can get under the truck.

I LUV MY TRUCK!

I have 117K on my truck half of the miles are towing my Jeep and trailer and have been very happy with it. The only things I have had to have replaced/go wrong other then maintenance and hop ups are two lift pumps both of which were covered under warranty. I plan on keeping my truck until I get 500K.

103,000. Used up one LP @ 70K. On third set of brake pads. #53 block just cracked and leaking. DC says 'Tuff luck'. Cummins to replace block @ 50%.

I have 108K and no real problems except 1 lift pump. I added more power and DTT trans at 36K. I have been very happy with the truck.

God I hate having to say this, 230k. . . looking for a Cummins Reman. Blowed her up couple a weeks ago in WV under load to VA. Head gasket failed allowing water into cylinders. Not very good steam engines. Didn't get her stopped in time. Gotta do or buy a Reman. Anybody know where I can get a Cummins Reman for the $3,200 w/100k warranty now?

Tow Safe,

Steve J.

I have 123k miles. Had to replace lift pump and vp pump at 120k. 3 sets of pads, 2 rear axles seals and a pinion seal. And a AP sensor when it had 3k miles on it.

Miles on my 24v truck

119k on my early 98. 5 24v.

crankshaft rot. counter

APPS

frt. disk brakes, rear orig.

1 lift pump

seals: x-fer case; diff. input; frt. axles

fried headlight switch

1 set of shocks

2nd set of tires--30% left

1 serpentine belt

Everything else is original but... ... ... ..... I WORRY ABOUT A POSSIBLE ENG. BLOCK CRACK... . . no sign of it yet
