My truck smoked the stock transmission. My local diesel performance shop sells and installs BD trannys. I trust them, but I thought I had read a thread on someone having bad luck with BD. Does anyone have a BD? Likes, dislikes?

I was helping a TDR member(ddechris) in Lancaster, Pa a few months ago with his timing. He had a BD torque converter and valve body installed. When we took it for a ride it shuddered around 44 mph. His installing dealer said his tires needed balanced!?!?. I know its only one but i figured i throw my 2 cents in.

Get a hold of Dave Goerend. He is a busy man, but it's worth the wait. Top notch to deal with.

I would go with DTT before BD. I would also consider Source Automotive if you're looking around the pacific NW. . . Rip uses Dunrite TCs, single & triple disk. I understand the triple has an unlimited or lifetime warranty of some sort.

And I would go with Goerend before DTT or BD. But down here in the SE, SunCoast is hard to beat. But I have a Goerend in my hot rod. When I bought it, that's what was in it. I've had no reason to change.

Thanks for the heads up on trannys. I just got the phone with ddt, ats, and suncoast. Seems the closest deisel shop to me that sells/installs theses trannys are 3 hours away. It gets expensive to ship it, and have the old one shipped back for the core charge.

Anyone use a shop around the Bay Area in California? I'm smack in the middle between Monterey Ca, and San Francisco. Where do all the Bay Area dodge guys go???????

I don't want to start another transmission war, but I put in a Goerend last month and am very pleased with it. Dave is always busy, but took the time to call me back when I had questions. I'm sure the other aftermarkets are fine, just sharing my experience.

Thanks Chris-I just got off the phone with Adam at winspeed. He and I talked alot and fI eel that his reccomendation for Suncoast will work good for my application. What is amazing is that his 2001 dodge puts out 850 hp and close to 2,000 tq. He said when I bring my truck in we'll go for a ride!!!!

Thanks for the reference.

im very surprised no one has mentioned HTS transmissions. i have gotten to talk to them and install many of there transmissions. everything about the company and there products is top notch. give them a call before you decide also.
