I want to install my new pod injectors this weekend just want to know any special tricks do's or don'ts. Should I adjust pump at same time ? I will be putting 14cm non wastegated housing and Piers turbo. pyro and boost gauges on next weekend any suggestions would be appreciated.

Easy install. Vise grips & pry bar will work just fine. loosen line brackets back towards pump and place screw driver under lines for clearance to pull injectors. Don't touch pump until gauges are in as egt's will rise fast so you will not know were you are at until pyro is in. Use neverseeze on threads of injectors and make sure little brass washers come out with old injectors. Clean bore before install.

Good luck and enjoy. :D

Darrin,

Just a comment I would install the guages before you put in the other goodies. That way you will have a base line (boost & pyro numbers). Then add one enhancement at a time and get some more boost and pyro numbers. Last but not least get the pump timing set properly and you should not have to turn up the pump. :D The pumps are not cheap and are a weak link.

Good luck,

Al

Hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna 'lurk' on this thread and see how it goes.

Check you smoke before and after. I'm curious about your results.

Gauges first, so you can baseline. The install itself is easy, I didn't have any problems (did mine two weeks ago) with bleeding air from the lines, but others have. One you get it fired up, make sure you take it for a long cruise to blow any additional air bubbles out of the line. And I'm with Bushwakr, check your smoke before and after, I'm getting quite a bit more smoke than before the installation (my pump is untweaked). I haven't had the pump timing advanced yet (recommended by Piers), which is supposed to help the smoke situation. Good luck.

:) It will help to remove a couple valve covers where the injector lines go through, bud. Also, go to the hardware store and buy a metric nut to fit the top of your injector. Next just crossthread some all thread in one end and use a large socket as a slide hammer to pop the injectors out. I welded the nut on, but you don't have to, there are not that tight, but this does work good. Be real carefull not to turn the injector in the hole if it is rusted some, especially #6, just soak with a good penetrating oil and it will come. #6 is usually the hardest to do because of rust and no room to work. I used the . 093 copper gasket on it, some don't, I measured the one that I took out. Just a thought, while the lines are loose, take them loose at the pump and move the pump towards the engine about 1\8 of inch and that will help the timing. You might e-mail Piers on the amount to move, but I think thats right. Good luck and you will love these injectors. Tim;) ;) ;)

Thanks for your opinions I am going to wait until I get gauges installed to see the difference, that makes sense. I will keep you posted
