Competition Could somebody help me with these turbo numbers

Okay, so 11. 00 1/4 = 7. 01 in the 1/8, and 10. 7's = 6. 8 with a 1. 50 60' according to time slips I have right here. Why is it that so many "fast" trucks never run full 1/4 miles?

Rhonda... ... ... . We just had an "outlaw" race, where "run what you brung" deal was legal. All these truck run the 1/4, this track is just an 1/8 mile. It was a central to most folks around here and a lot of the DHRA folks showed up. There was no weight limit/restriction so Earl weighed 400 lbs less than Jeff, and Jeff was 700 less than the DHRA weight rule. Spray with twins, water/ meth, whatever was the rule. Bill would have fit right in here. The way it felt, the 1/8th mile included the water box too. Really tight. We all had a good time and Jeff won the pot with his new single and nitrous kit from TS Performance. Dennis really has that spray deal down pat.

So to answer your question, all these trucks run the quarter mile. This one just happened to be at a 1/8 track. Heck, my old pumper ran an 8. 66.

Darren actually was #1 qualifier and ran a couple of 6. 56's and a 6. 65 on his serious passes. This in legal DHRA Pro Street form.

But it sure was fun watching everyone let it all out.

True David, but my point was Darren would have gotten "skinny" in he could have. But we know what happened to Darren, and why Jeff won. I will say, Darren has the baddest 4X4 I have ever seen. That truck is just wicked. Do I hear head games in there some place? I wonder what will come from him next?

Rhonda... ... ..... Did that answer your question?

Yeah, Preston, I guess I just forget there are 1/8 mile tracks people actually run on (it just seems too dang short)... By your description of the outlaw class, pretty much anyone could have run in it, eh? I personally like the "run what you brung" concept. Also sounds like drugs are very popular there.

Whenever there are big horsepower gains, there is speculation about ET's. We seem to get a lot of people posting about superior horsepower, then 1/8 mile times, which leads to further speculation about what their 1/4 mile times would be. Sometimes the trucks in question break before they complete the 1/4 mile too.

My truck might be one of the fastest tow vehicles at one of those races... :-laf

Rhonda. . You may just be right. Really, the 1/8 mile track was kinda fun. First time I've been on one. Like you, I'd heard of um but never seen one. I would do it again.

One thing that I find when bracket racing in the 1/8mile everything is so fast. I get to look over 2 then the race is over. Our car goes 4. 7-4. 8 @ 141mph, it's even harder looking over your shoulder when getting chased down.

The only 1/8 track I've been on was part of an oval with a wicked turn at the end. Dangerous for my truck 200hp ago... Stefan's car would need a bigger bumper, and a pretty good airbag. :-laf
