I love the show. :)

The early episodes are the best (a few exceptions. Draft Dodger, transvestite Archies saves ect).

Once Mike & Gloria move out the episodes are not as good.

TV Land has a weekend Marathon going. Mostly early ones too.

Archie Bunker

Boy the way Glen Miller played! Songs that made the Hit Parade. Guys like us had it made, those were the day's. Sorry never heard of the show. :-laf . I'm kidding I love those old episodes.

Re: Archie Bunker

Boy our old LaSalle ran great, those were the days. (my Wife and I researched that line for a while to figure out what they were saying. )

the show was WAY ahead of its time... . but boy they could NEVER pull it off in THIS day and age.

GOD bless brother Carroll o'Connor.

I was too young to understand it when it was new.

I was shocked when I first saw it on Tv land.

After I quit laughing, I wondered how they got away with it then!!

Classic, pure classic. :D

Archie!!!!!

If this old show doesn`t amuse you, then STIFLE! My favorite episode was one of the first. It was so long ago, all I remember is the deal with the chair. You take 2 foot to foot steps back from the wall, bend over & touch your head to the wall. Put all your weight against the wall. A helper puts a kitchen chair in between you & the wall. Then you pick up the chair and try to stand up. Women can do it, men cannot. Archie tripped out on that one. So many classic episodes. DK. :D

A. Bunker's use of malapropism is classic!

The one that always gets me laughing is when the mentally challenged grocery delivery boy shows up Archie in front of MeatHead. Rob Reiner's smirk is priceless!

It took me a long to decipher "mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again"

Then I turned on the Closed Captioning one night and had the whole song spelled out for me. :D

Wife wasn't sleeping well while staying over at relatives this weekend. Turned on the tube at 4:30 am and hysterical laughter at one of the early episodes had the whole house awake early on Saturday! Now she keeps checking in on TV land to see which episode is running. Our favorite is an election-time program where Archie berates all the local candidates with such political incorrectness that I'm sure it could never be run in prime time 2003! Original airing was probably '72. Have Fun, JimG

"Aw, Geez!"

BTW, isn't it "Gee, our old La Salle ran great" and not "Boy, our old La Salle ran great"?

When it comes to those older shows, I like M*A*S*H the best, especially the episodes where they're playing practical jokes and setting up booby traps for each other (like the time they put a manniquin in Margaret's closet and then had the door creak open to allow the dummy to land right on top of her after she got in bed). :D

How about the one where archie was posing for a picture with Sammy Davis, and Sammy turned and kissed Archie just when the flash went off, that was great.
