Have had this out of the tank twice. Now it doesn't work at all and I'm tired of cleaning it and adjusting the little contacts. Any know of alternatives to the $65 factory part?

Any online part (OEM) sources that do NOT charge "dealer" pricing?

I have lost two of those darn senders and just havent replaced the third one yet. I just have a hard time going through all the trouble and effort again for it to last 40k. I couldnt find another place that sells the dodge part but I did find a couple of other options for a repalcement. The capicitance type senders dont use a float of any type they use electrical current. Westach makes a capicatance type fuel gauge and I saw that SPA also makes one. SPA's is a bit expensive but is a dual gauge I think with volts. The Westach has both regular and dual with the fuel gauge

on the spa link second to the last on the list.

The westach is certainly cheaper.

I just havent decided if I want to go this route. I have been running without a fuel gauge for so long that I have just not convinced myself that I really need to spend the money to fix it again. There is also a fix for the stock one that once done keeps it from messing up. There is a thread on here somewhere about it.

Ditto! Am thinking the same thing myself. Maybe I just need to bite the copper jacket and design one myself from the cheapest OTS part I can find.

Search the forum for "sender repair"; someone did one I think for the newer trucks, but it may apply to our rigs too.
