Any body use a AcuTempAdapter (for your Trans temp sender) from Geno's Garage?

If so, how do you like it?

Does it work O. K. ?

Is it accurate?

Thanks, Billy:confused:

I've used one on my truck for almost four years for convenience but I don't think it is very effective compared to mounting a sensor in the pan or in the hotside cooling line.

I had one on my 08 used it for 6 months, gave it to my son. He sold it to another dodge user. I removed it when we installed a MAG- HYTEC deep transmission oil pan. I placed the Oil temp prob in the pan for a more improved reading of the transmission oil temp.

When I used the Acu Temp Adapter there was a (lower by) 20 to 30 deg difference in the oil temps. I just add this difference to my transmission oil temp readings to watch the oil, so I would not over heat the trans when towing.

I did violate one of my rules when I bought the adapter. I maintain that you should not buy something twice. Buy the best you can buy the first time and do not pay for it twice this cost more in the long run. If you plan on putting on a deep oil pan for the transmission, than save your money and wait for the pan.

I've used two of these for customers. I don't normally work on autos, but to sell the guages..... but yes, they'll have a differentiation of around 15-20* lower than actual. The unit bleeds heat out into the air when in motion. Fairly accurate sitting. My suggestion would be to buy a B&M universal type plug like this: Amazon.com: B&M 80250 Automatic Transmission Universal Drain Plug Kit: Automotive The center plug can be removed and the sending unit installed, or, if you're gonna get an aftermarket pan, most of those have places for sending units/drain plugs.

I was told by someone who ""should"" know, that mounting a sensor in the line with a "T" isn't good. Soooooooo, this would be, like five times worse that having the sensor actually IN THE OIL.

Just what I'm told, so take that for what it's worth... ... ..... No. I havn't used one.

It is best to have the sensor with the OIL FLOW passing directly over the end of said sensor. I did have on ein the oil pan and that was worthless. It would rarely read anything at all... ... ... ... my guage starts at 140°
