Bay point is right down the road from me. Definitely NO hunting out the back door in loony land. Luckily I still get to hunt with all my friends from back home in the foothills and hunt out their back door:-laf You're in the mother land of duck hunting though, tons of good hunting on public land... tons of people too though.
Definitely hang onto the sleds, you're only a few hours from the snow. You can make up your mind when you get out here. We ride up in Truckee, Tahoe, pretty much wherever we can during winter. In-laws have a house in Truckee so it makes it easier. Coming from up north though you will be horribly stricken with culture shock. I got a buddy, came from North Dakota, after intense therapy he's just now starting to make full sentences
