I am writing to see if anyone with an NV5600 changed to 3. 42 and what the end result was/is. I have 04. 5 2WD Quadcab 3500 SRW w/NV5600 and 3. 73 and drive more than 30,000 per year and mostly freeway commute and we all know $4+/gal is a killer. I do not tow and truck weighs a good 9000lbs. I am not sure that a GV overdrive is the way to go, but I wouldn't turn down input on that option either. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I have a 4. 10 and the conclusion I've come to is to buy a GV unit. I did the research on the GV and it equals out the final output to 3. 20. In my case I do have a 4x4 so the GV is my best option. In your case I would definitely swap to 3. 42. I'll bet you'll have the same ride as my 98 with 3. 55 and 34" tires smooth(65mph@1500rpm). I do not think that doing the swap is going to increase your mileage very much, just a thought my friend. HC
