Talked to Paul at HTT and they are out of htb2's :{ :(

He has the HTBG's in stock so I was curious if anyone had any experience with these. My stock piece has a crack that is growing on it, and I need to get it replaced ASAP.

Also, who is the cheapest on the ATS manifold right now?

ummm i may be on the previous page on this one but what the hell is a HTBG? ive only known of the htb2's from htt. i have the killer b2 on my truck, and its an awsome turbo.

Wes,

Paul told me it's a size down from the HTB2, but fully upgradeable to the HTB2. I'm trying to figure out if I can wait or not, but the crack in my turbo is creeping and I don't want the thing coming apart on me:(

there's a guy on turboford selling a low mile '04 takeoff for $400... might be able to knock him down a little.

don't spend real money on a turbo if it isn't "the" turbo you want!

Yeah I know...

But it is upgradeable for the same cost as the HTB2.

I straight piped my truck again... Like you said yesterday, a hot-rodder has to tinker:(:)

This truck is freakishly loud. Sounds similer to the 5", but the resonnance didn't carry over :-laf Nice to be heard again:D

hmmmm..... i wasn't aware of something smaller then the HTB2 other then the stage III that has the 60mm compressor. aparently it must have the same compressor housing so as to be able to upgrade to a full HTB2. thanks for the info!

so whats with this turbo ??

After my dyno day here in STL, I am in need of a turbo BAD!!

Will this turbo take a beating like the B1's out there?

I just wish I had more answers before I pluck down $1100

from what it sounds like its similar to a s300, and if your heavily fueled, it wont give you much of an EGT reduction, as far as reliablity i dont know, so i wont comment, but i doubt it is as beefy as a B1

I'm assuming it's the new S300 based turbo that Schwitzer released as a drop-in performance turbo for the 5. 9 Cummins. it's a good turbo. it's not a super high performance deal, but think of it as competition for a 40/35 hybrid w/ a better map and a stronger shaft. good turbo, but not "enough" for everyone :D

Tomey, I'm going off of memory here so be forgiving:D

I was told it had a 57mm inducer and a 12cm housing. Mine should be here in the next few days. If I don't feel like it's enough or breathes toooooo hot with a box on it, I'll upgrade to the HTB2.

Did you dyno with the xillaraider yet?

If you want a b1 buy the B1!!

The HTT stuff seems to be pretty good! I know of a truck locally with the HT turbo that is over 500hp, they are very durable and will provide alot of EGT reduction.

Its not that different from a B1.

Tomey,

They added this on their website. .

We now offer our NEW HTBG turbo. This turbo is similar to the Borg Warner S300G but features several design enhancements such as bearing and oiling mods and adjustable wastegate actuators. This turbo is strong and utilizes a smaller but efficient compressor. It is perfect for applications ranging from 350-425 HP / 950 Ft. lbs. torgue.

I have an HTBG sitting in my garage that I will be installing on my 01' this weekend or next. This pickup is used for towing and Paul recommended this turbo for the job.
