Does anyone have any spy photos of the rumored new body style in '09? Or has that rumor gone away. I am in the market for a new truck and don't know if I should wait or get a '08. Bad part is my truck is running fine I just don't have enough cab space for the growing family. The Griswald family Christmas Tree hunt is going to be tight.

the only photos floating around are shrouded in camo and not worth posting... go to allpar.com if you really want to look.

rumor is that the quad cab is getting larger and the mega is going away... .

Splitting the difference on the QC and MC would be just right. I think the MC short bed looks weird anyway. Let me rephrase that: I think the MC looks funny with the short bed. The cab is too long, or could use more glass in the rear doors and less C pillar.

Dodge has announced a 2009 redesign for the Ram by Ralph Gilles. The next generation will have improved towing and payload capacities. The MegaCab was expected to be expanded to to an even larger six doors with seating for nine, however there is no "middle" door currently being tested, which suggests dodge has ditched the six door design. Horsepower is expected to increase to around the 400HP mark for the Hemi and 300 for the 4. 7, and for the first time, the 1500 series will (likely) have a diesel engine - a V8 manufactured by Cummins.

I just read in our paper yesterday Chrysler LLC all cars will be Chrysler no more Dodge cars, all trucks will be Dodge & all Jeeps & SUV will be Jeep. So this will be interesting.

I keep waiting myself. The back seat of my '97 is shrinking fast with the grwong kids. I almost broke down and purshcased a Quad cab, but the hard plastic dash design left me cold. Then I read a statment from Ralph Gilles saying that would be changed in 2009. I went ahead and had my truck painted, just so I can wait for the 2009's.

Like the article Bill Stockard links to said, it's all just being studied. I highly doubt Chrysler LLC is stupid enough to dump Dodge cars altogether, given the success of the Charger, especially in the police market. I'm hearing much positive about the Charger Police Special. It's the first full size rear wheel drive competitor to the aging Crown Vic since the Caprices of the 1990s. Besides, it doesn't make marketing sense to me to market all your cars under a badge that's supposed to be more up-market. Dodge should be sporty cars, minivans and tough trucks. Some have mentioned the need for bringing back the Plymouth nameplate for more basic cars and minivans.

I agree; they wont do it. Think about it... Chrysler Charger? Chrysler Challenger? Jeep Durango? Dont think so... imagine GM doing it; a Cadillac Aveo? Yea, Chrysler wont do it either...

09's will look more like the 08 dakotas from what I hear.

That's a shame. Anybody else feel that both Chevy and Ford's new body styles are a major failure compared to the models they replaced, especially the new Chevy "family truckster"? Now Dodge may be next? What the heck???

Chrysler VIPER yuck. Sounds very sloooow. -Jason

Haha, Ditto that!! From what I hear the 09 is a real looker; heard this from somebody that went to Vegas to some dealer meeting where they talked about and had in attendance the Challenger and the new Ram... saw actual pics of the Challenger from it but none of the Ram. I think itll be along the lines of the Dakota, but I think all of us will agree that the 04-07 Dakotas, while similar to the 06-08 Rams, isnt NEAR as good looking. I think the same will happen here. We can look at the lastest Dakota for hints to the direction of the 09 Ram (hood and fender lines, headlights basic look, etc... ) but the Ram will be much better looking.
