At 37,321 mine are toast. I started hearing a squeak last week not knowing what it was. Started getting some vibration and growling today and new what it was then. U-joint on rear driveshaft at differential has two blown seals and sqeaks real bad. Front u-joint on rear driveshaft is covered in gray dust. It's got to be bearing dust. Anyway, I talked to the service manager today and they will replace them under warranty with the $100 deductible. I really would like to have better u-joints than these and also would like to be able to grease them. Anyone have any information on replacement u-joints? Thanks!

Use the warranty

Had my rear joint in my rear driveshaft self destruct memorial weeked - $80+- Each cost w/tax - good dealer. .

Checked last week and had the front joint of the rear shaft is starting to go and the front axle - outer drive axle joints - 4x4 are shot - BOTH. .

Use the warranty

Whats this $100 deductible all about? I'll damned if I'm payin $100 deductible for $40 worth of u-joints. Mine is is the shop right now and there was no mention of any deductlible?

If you have exceeded the 36,000 miles basic (no deductable) warranty it falls under the 7/70 - powertrain warranty - which has a 100$ deductable - and the rear joints are $76-$100 + each depending on dealer - have not found them aftermarket yet - although there is a thread here somewhere of one 'compatable' make fit joint for less - there are however 2 sizes of rear joints - the larger one for the '1' pc rear shaft and the smaller for the 2pc - w/carrier shaft setup. .

Got a call today telling me my truck was ready to be picked up. I let them know that I would be late getting back to town and to just throw the work order and key on the floor before locking it up, and I would get it later in the evening.

1 5102157-AB JOINT NON 2012046

Total cost ... ... ... zilch, nadda, zip with 53,900 and ticking

past 3/36 its powertrain with a $100 deduct. BUT at 37k and change I'd call D. C. to get that wavied or ask the SERVICE MANAGER to wave it. At 37k that SHOULD NOT be a problem.

Can anyone help me with a number to call DC. I had to leave my truck at the dealer and I'm currently at work offshore. If I can call and get the $100 waived before the wife picks up the truck thursday or friday that would be great.

1800-992-1997 need vin number and mileage. don't be bashful with them or the dealer service manager. If he's been a GOOD boy with D. C. he can handle it himself and dosent even need to ask them at 37k! In fact I'd ask him nicely first. Tell him if YOU have to you will call and it just ends up in his lap in a few hours and creates a bit of paper work HE has to respond to and clear up. That u/joint didn't JUST go dry or fail.
