Optical Pickup

mgoncalves,

Can you verify whether they have the optical pickup for rpm readings? Without rpm the torque output can't be calculated. TIA

Yes, they have the optical pickup. They said that they put a piece of reflective tape on the crank pulley to use for a signal. I am planning on taking my truck there in the next week or so, that way they can take a look and get an idea of what they need to do. I know they have done powerstrokes there before because they gave me a graph from one to look at, so they have probably done a few cummins also.

The only question I have is with the auto's. Is there anything special needed to dyno a truck with an auto?

I should be able to schedule a date by the end of the week, It looks like we will have no problem getting enough trucks.

If you guys have any more questions, let me know.

Thanks,

Matt

I would like to attend if my schedule allows. I do not need to dyno my truck as it is stock, but I would be interested in seeing how other truck modifications are done and to chat with those in attendance as to pros/ cons of improvements for when I do eventually upgrade my vehicle. -frank
