Competition Any interest in a Northeast Diesel Racing Division?

With the announcement of an event in Vegas this subject has brought up some heated debates from other Northeasterners demanding events in our region on another diesel only site..... this subject goes back to the top... ...

im in the process of setting up something here at MIR---having our own race classes and series, i would like input, it going to start out as a club membership or somthing first, you know --to get your foot in the door. thanks

At the end of summer, New England Dragway has Truck Nationals. I haven't been in couple of years, but they run big rigs, pickups, etc. and have a truck show. The track had a petition drive a couple years ago, because some developer wanted to turn it into condos? But, I think he moved on. plowking

MIR, unless they have changed since I moved away a few months ago, never treated us diesel guys all that well. In fact we used to have some pretty good turn outs for there twce yearly all truck shows till they atarted shafting us, since then fewer and fewer people have showed up. Heck I only lived 10 minutes from the track and I didn't even bother to go to the last one they had. Good luck.

Oh I'm not worried about it, cause I am not racing anymore anyhow. I was just giving the Diesel Power guy a heads up. I raced at that track for 4 years, since I only lived about 10 minutes away from there.

I know Royce Miller the owner of mir. I will have to call him or his son Jason and see what we can do. I know they have there diesel show in early May but its always on a saturday and some people have to work so its hard to go.

Here in northern va diesel are real popular and people like spending money up here. The problem is nobody really dont know ***** about diesel here. LOL. they put some bolt on parts and think they have something. Oo.

For those of you that ARE interested- we are working on setting up a complete division - through-out the entire North east, we are looking into putting together a series and events to quench our thirst for Diesel Motorsports in the NorthEast... . possibly some pulling to go along with the racing, show and shine, and just plain ol rootin tootin soot throwin :-laf good time! That's what its all about anyhow right?

thats cool, but for budds creek, like said before they are not diesel oriented, so our chance is in #'s---so we need more people, ive got like 15 people thats it, royce said 20 or better and that will get us started---he also said 50-100+ and we will start our own event, racing dually, we could use your help as well, and whoever is interested. i will be back down there this weekend so we'll smoke it over later. thanks Oo.
