I may be moving to Northern Colorado within in the nest year. I have the option of moving. I need to find out what type of living conditions, real estate , basically the cost of living in the Ft. Collins, Windsor area. I lived in Denver for a short time about 16 years ago and remember it as nice. The houses that I have found on the Internet seem to be well priced but don't know if that is a true representation of what houses are going for in the area. Any help or comments will be appreciated. I will offer more info on what is going on if I get some replies from those in the area. thanks :p

Welcome back Cuda, I live and have lived in Northern Colorado (Greeley) for 17 years. I work in Denver and make the hour commute each way every day in the beloved CTD. As for housing prices it seems for every ten miles Shout you go from Highway 34 and on the I-25 corridor tack on about $10k to the home prices for the same square footage and smaller lots. I read in your post the last time you lived in Denver was 16 years ago.

If you havent been up North since then you wouldnt even recognize the place. Windsor until about 8 years ago was a little farm town that was kinda run down. Now its filled with Million dollar homes everywhere. Extremely nice community that has a spectacular range of amenitites including private lakes for Windsor residents. Fort Collins is great too and was voted the best city under 200,000 to live in in the US a couple years ago. For the best values on Real Estate I think you will be hard pressed to beat Greeley or Loveland. Windsor and Fort Collins has already caught on to the big city home prices but Greeley and Loveland are just starting to open their eyes on this. Shhh..... dont tell any one, more Californians might move here and really raise the prices. :D j/k

As for cost of living, its pretty reasonable up here, taxes are lower than Denver. One word of Caution, Weld County has the highest fuel prices in the state consistently. I buy my fuel in another county. Other than that its pretty inexpensive up here.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help, there are quite a few members here that live in Loveland and Fort Collins, and even a few Greeley folks. Sure we would all be glad to assist.

If things are looking too pricey down that way, just take a little trip up north. There are a handful of us around here. Loveland/FC/Greeley/Windsor are nice areas as well.
