Under load towing I get a vibration out of the transfer case shift lever, especially at lower RPM. If I move it slightly to the right it goes away. Has any one else had this problem??

Not on my diesel. I had a similar problem on my other truck, my '78 Ram 4x4 with a 440 in it. It seems that around 80 mph (about 3,000 rpm) it would resonate quite a bit. Moving it to the right also helps a bit with that. Don't know what the cause is, so anyone else with any help would be apprecitated.

I dunno if this is any help or not. My wife and I went from Eureka, CA to Provo, UT and halfway back with a terrible high pitched rattle coming from the transfer case lever. Lucky I'm almost deaf so I couldn't hear it. But the head of the house complained about it all the time. Tempted to put her out about Battle Mountain. Then she found it. It was a little glass bottle she had put in the transfer case boot and forgot about. HEE HEE HEE!

I don't get to haul anything :-( but my RAM did this and I found it was the boot that fit around my stick shift. DC went to that RETARDED rubber boot thing in the 98s and if you push down on it so that it slides down the gear shift, the sound stopped for me.

Yeah, I had the same thing. There is a TSB on it. The repair is simple, go under the truck with a prybar and stick it up against the spring on the transfer case lever and pry so it takes the slop out of it. It will come back again every so often and need a re-adjustment. I redo mine with every fuel filter change.
