I was just curious as to if anyone has found a HID headlight conversion kit for both bulbs in a sport truck??

I know Evan Beck did his low beams... but any one else??

HID Low Beams...

I did my low beam about same time as Evan. Two years plus and still awesome lighting. Forget HID high beams. HID requires ramp-up time to not be efffective when switching high beams on/off. Besides high beam only fill some shadows when compared with HID low beams. I upgraded my high beams, and wiring harness, to 100 watts halogen.

jcbrown - which kit did you used for you low beams... I am thinging this might be my next project. I guess any kit for a 9004 bulb would work?? as long as it was just low beam. The up grade of the high beam wires and harness/bulbs would be done at the same time.

Try www.coolbulbs.com I got my wire harness and 100 watt bulbs for my HI beams there. I love the way they turned out. I looked at their HID systems for the lows, just too much money for me right now.

Which bulbs did you get and what are your impressions?? They talk a good hype how their bulbs are twice as bright, draw the same amperage and have the same heat output as the OEM bulbs they replace. Do you find this to be true? Sounds to good to be true, crisp clean white light that's twice as bright and yet won't overload your stock wiring or melt the headlamp lenses.

1TUFFRAM. . What I used that I like so much was the wiring harness and 100 watt bulbs for my high beams. I don't see it on their site anymore, but I'm sure someone could email them to get it. It was a wire harness that had a heavy gauge wire set up off the battery with some relays and plugs into the stock light plug. Now I can run the 100 watt bulbs with the heavier wiring. They are very bright. I used their blue colored 55 watt bulbs for my low beams and I am not totally sold on them. They are nicer than stock, but not what I expected. I would buy them again, just not with my hopes so high.

Is that the harness with the bright yellow covering? Thats what I got.

Since I didnt have a sport truck to begin with, but I did have the sport lights, I had to switch some pins to make the 9007's work properly.

What I like about this is I have all 4 light on low, and on hi.

This makes a world of difference.

I only have one minor problem with mine. When I go from hi beams to low beams, most of the time I have to momentarily shut off the lights to get the lights to go to low. I dont know if the 9004's or the 9007's that are doing this? Sometimes they go to low by themselves, but there is a noticable delay when they do. I think it's a sticky relay.

I wish they used the standard cube relays,(Or if their relay size was readily available... ) I dont feel like cutting wires. This is still too new for that. :D

It's been a couple of months so I assume you've solved this problem. If not, the FAQ from SUVlights.com at least points to a possible solution. Go to

<http://suvlights.tripod.com/suvlightscom/html/faq-qa.htm#Why for vehicles with dual batteries>

and scroll down to "Why for vehicles with dual batteries, it is recommended that 2 wire harnesses be used connected to each battery?"

HID caught my attention after reading a recent magazine article (twice the range of halogen?!). What really caught my attention was following the links from these posts and seeing the prices ($450 and up!). Hard for me to justify for city driving. Maybe in deer country...
