ANY ONE INTERESTED IN A HEAVY DUTY ALUMINUM RADIATOR?

i am sick of replacing the radiator with the same price of plastic junk tanked one that is in there. this is my third one at 350 to 500 bucks a shot. i am looking for a better answer and a better fix. so i called a couple of radiator companies and got a price of $800. 00 for a rad that rated at 400hp to 700hp. i asked the price will come down with volume and he said it will. but i need solid # to call him back with for a group buy. so let me know your thoughts and you needs.

Would this be a bolt on?

Use OEM mounts/shroud?



It would all depend on how much the price would come down..... $800 is okay for a racecar but not a daily driven pickumup truck.

GRIFFIN IS THE VENDOR THAT WILL BE MAKING THE RADIATORS NEED AT LEAST 12 FOR A DISCOUNT BUT 24 OR MORE WILL BE BETTER PRICE. I WILL LET YOU GUYS KNOW MORE WHEN I SEE A LITTLE MORE INTEREST IN HAVING THEM BUILT.

how are they different from factory besides being plastic?more rows for flow?if it will keep me at 190 or a little less towing my 5-ver i would buy one. ken

Yes yes yes. If it does in fact provide more cooling capacity i would be interested. I can get the water temps up there on long hills with a heavy load. Keep us informed please. Based on the width of the stock tank compared to the core, i would say they could easily add more capacity.

Ed, do you have any specifications on the radiator, bigger tanks, extra row/s for a bigger core? I personally do not need one but have several customers that have asked me to look into more cooling capacity? Please keep us update.

If it will fit in a 98. 5 and a 99 24 valve and it will keep a truck cool when pulling a 9,000 to 11,000 pound 5th wheel up steep passes in the Colorado Mountains, a friend and I would be interested.



It stinks to have all that power but not be able to use it because your water temperature keeps getting too hot.

well guys there is still not enough interest to get this project off the ground but i see that most of you guys looking for better cooling when towing. so i going to call the vendor with your requests and i will post the new info soon. hope fully this will spark up some more interest.

i just got off the phone with griffin. spec for radiator is as flows. 2 row of 1 1/4'' will handle between 400-600 hp. towing those big 9000/11000 lbs loads. i can get them for $575. 00 now those that are up around 550- 600 hp range and towing should go with the 2 rows of 1 1/2'' tubes and they would be $675. 00. let me know what you want to do i have to order least 12 confirmed to get this price. also i will send them the rad out of my truck for a sample. he said that i will be a direct bolt in and he will have to see the rad to see if the studs can be put on top for battery cable. he said that should not be a problem. but he need the sample to make sure. any other ? let me know. please be sure that you want the radiator before i send out the one in my truck for a sample. i don't want my truck down for a long time to find out that you changed you mind and i am stuck with out a radiator. once i got 12 confirmed i will make arrangements for payment. once all payment are complete the order will be placed. and then i can let you know how long it will take for them to be made and shipped. should be 4-6 week from payment. let me know

I really like the sounds of the bigger radiator to keep me from ever having to worry about cooling problems.



My only worry is if it will fit in my truck correctly. I don't see your signature to be able to tell what truck you have. I think it's great that you're willing to set this up and send your radiator in as the model, but I would also like to make sure your radiator the same as mine.

the radiator i know will fit 94-98 12v. they should fit most 2nd gen. rams but i am not sure you will have to find that out for your self. but i don't see any reason that would not fit up to 2002. from what i can see on the Internet they all look the same from the pics posted but i am not sure. if there is any one in south jersey that has a 98. 5-2002 24v i can take a look at. let me know.

12v vs. 24v radiator

I called around to a few local radiator shops and also tried a couple of web based radiator shops.



The local dealers show different part numbers for the 12 valve vs. the 24 valve:



1997 12 valve PN - 52006479

1999 24 valve PN - 52030191AB



the local shops as well as the web shops all say that the radiators are the same even though they have different part numbers.



Sign me up for 2 of the big radiators with the 2 rows of 1 1/2'' tubes for $675. 00.

OK guys this is what i got. the factory rad has 4 rows of 1/2'' tubes the new rads will have 2rows of 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 tubes factory bolt up all aluminum. no plastic tanks now i have almost 12 people. to do this. people listed are as flows.
