Hey fellas, I want to add a Rear Diff Temp gauge in an Autometer steering column mount and was wondering how you liked them. I read a post about one rubbing the steering wheel.

Anyone have any pictures from the driver's seat? Does it really get in the way of the instrument cluster?

Thanks for the help!

HeavyHauler, I used the steering column mount to house my DiPricol trans. temp. guage since I put the Pyro,Boost,& Fuel press. in the A-pillar. It blocks out the idiot lights at the bottom where the wait to start light is at but it isn't bad and I like the way it looks, IMO. They give you 2 ways to mount it, either double sided tape or 4 plastic rivets or plugs that you drill your top steering column cover and push them through to retain it. I selected the later and pulled my upper cover off and using the pod as a template, drilled the 4 holes and mounted it that way. The trans. temp. DiPricol does not rub my steering wheel but I've read where others might. Sorry I don't have pictures, but I know Geno's catalog and website have a decent picture of them. Mike

Thanks for the reply - I checked on Geno's website and they say that only the Westach gauges have a problem with the steering wheel. I believe that was the type of gauge that the other member had problems with.

Anyone else have any pics?

I have a westech fuel pres. gauge in mine and no rubbing. They said it would but anothe member said his was fine so I went for it and have no problems. It does block some of the lower lights on the dash. But I do like it there.

I have the autometer steering mount with autometer electric fuel pressure. As stated above is does cover the lights along bottom. Wait to start and low washer fluid lights. But able to see others ok. I used the 2 sided tape. It seems to be holding fine.

column mount

I have the autometer steering column mount and their fuel pressure guage, mine rubbed using the tape. They are both sitting here under the desk as we speak... haha. I went with the autometer carbon fiber cup/mount bolted to the top cover and the Dipricol fuel pressure guage,,,much nicer in my book!!!!

I used the Westach on mine. Boost and EGT . I found that if i removed the sharp edge on the front of the gage and raised the right side up 1/4" the gage didnot hit.
