I Broke Wahoo's Leg

Video help (Adobe Premier softeware) -

Have any of you guys bought or drove a new 700 Sportsman? I am thinking of buying one and wanted to see if anyone had any opinions on it, good or bad I would like to know. My Polaris dealer doesn't have any in yet so I can't drive one, and I don't want to spent $7,300 on a ATV I don't like. I have a 500 4x4 Magnum now and am ready to trade in for a newer model, which I do about every 2 years.

Thanks in advance

have not ridden one yet, but I hear that they may not be that much faster than the Sportsman 500 HO. The Sportsman 700 is a lot heavier than the 500.

Try the Kawasaki 650. I rode one the other day and it makes my Honda 300 look sick. I will have one when deer season starts next year(I hope). I was quoted 6400. 00

I will agree that you shouldn't buy the first year model of anything. The Sportsman 500 had it's share of problems the first year.

I did get the chance to test ride the 700 a couple of weeks ago. It felt stronger than the 500HO, but not huge amount. The engine has virtually no vibration and acceleration feels "electric". In a drag race the 500HO might take it on top end, but the 700 felt like it had more low end torque. I could get the front wheels off the ground accelerating from a dead stop on the 700, but couldn't get the 500HO to do much more than a wheel hop. The 700 felt like it had a tighter turning radius than the 500HO. This test ride was at the dealership so I never got to give it a real world test ride on a trail.

Thanks

Guys, I apprisiate the replys and will most likely not buy the 4wheller till round the first of the year. I went back to dealer Saturday and they had a couple there so I took one for a drive. It rides much better than my 500 Magnum and turns alot tighter. It doesn't feel alot faster but it really is we took it on the road and were mine runs 60mph this thing got up to 65mph before i ran out of road. It also eccelerates alot faster than my 500. i got the dealer down to $7,100 but thats it. The fit and finish of the plastic, switches and gauges looks a hole lot better than my 99 to. Going to try to keep an eye on it and see if anyone has any problems but I thnk Polaris has finelly got all that stratend out.

Thanks again fellas.

Goto PolarisIndustries.com for all the info on the 700, I am also thinking of picking one up. It is not any heavier than the 500, one awesome benefit is the tongue weight is up around 130lbs as opposed to 30-40 for the competitors and it can pull close to 2k. I drove the Prarie 650 its definitely fast, but all its components (halfshafts, driveshafts, hubs etc) are like pencil thick compared to the polaris 700. The 700 is the beefiest atv outthere, and its badass looking to boot.

Good luck

TMc, I agree, the one I drove had massive halfshafts, bigger than my current 500 and a beefier frame and shocks too. I have to wait till I get my bonous here at work but as soon as I get it I'm going to the Polaris dealer. I never should have driven one because now I want one bad, kind of what happend when I drove my first Cummins powered Dodge. :D
