Hope I'm not asking this question too late. I changed my oil and filter before a road trip last week and long story short,I now have blowby problems. Ran about 2000 miles before my engine blew oil up and out of the dipstick tube... . ALOT of oil... Truck runs fine but it has blowby. I've been running Fleetguards forever but was in a hurry before the trip. :( Thanks for any info.

I've run thousands of miles on Wix filters which are the exact same thing as the 1607 without a problem.

Sounds like the return flow to your oil pan is getting pressurized from either leaking boost or compression.

Neither one sounds very good.

Not sure on Cummins but on Mercedes diesels they say if the pressure at the blowby exceeds 5psi with the dip stick tube blocked you either have a valve or ring problem.

Is your blowby breather working?id check to see if its clear, with it runnign you shoud see vapors coming out of it. If its plugged clean it out,if its clear, you got problems,$$ problems.

Glad to hear of no problems with that filter... . The breather tube is venting... What is really strange is I ran the snot out of this truck today and had no problems at all. It is running as strong as ever. Havent lost any oil . Go figure..... Fingers crossed.
