DATES FOR TDR ROUNDUP IN KELLOGGE IDAHO

Sacramento ca April 28th @ spaghetti Factory

I'm thinking about getting the Psychotty air system (or Todd's aluminum version) to help reduce my EGT's. But, I was hoping someone in the Seattle area with this setup wouldn't mind helping me out with a test drive. I don't have to drive the truck, just ride in it.

My concern is my wife. She was annoyed with the whistle from the turbo when I took the silencer ring out. If the Psychotty produces a very similar sound, I'll probably be sunk.

Email me at scollins@home. off-road.com if you can help me out with this request!

Scott, I got a PSA on my truck and I absolutely love it. The aluminum one is not as good in my opinion due to the thermal properties of aluminum versus plastic. Plastic is a better insulator, and will keep the air cooler as it passes through the unit. With the aluminum, it will pick up ambient underhood heat, which can be pretty hot, 175° or more under load. Remember, the cooler the air is, the denser it is--that means more O2, and therefore better combustion. If the air is warmer, your thermal efficiency goes down.

MikeR has a PSA on his truck too, and he is happy with it as well. I'd be glad to take you for a spin in my Ram, just let me know what your schedule is like. #ad

Hey Scott,

Yes I do have one,and love it. You know where I'm at after 6:30 pm monday thru thursday,so come by the shop and take the truck for a ride to see what you think. (if you want to call me 1-800-548-6969)
However,if she didn't like the noise with the silencer ring out, then she probably won't like noise of the PSA either. It doesn't make a high pitched sound like the ring removed,it just makes a 'woosh' sound.

Piers... Not only that, but he just purchased a new HP fuel plate! Guess he liked the sounds of all that knocking...

Scott... take your wife on the test drive... have her sit where she will normally sit. Some people don't like the "rabid garbage truck" sound of no muffler... I would rather hear that than the constant whoosh of the turbo. On a trip to Montana, it only took one Mountain pass for me to decide to put the silencer ring back in.

Laila (my wife, thought I'd give her a name this time) didn't like the high pitched whistle from the missing silencer ring. But, if the PSA makes more a "whoosh" noise, as indicated, then that probably won't be an issue.

Piers... . Move the plate BACK????? Heck, I'm planning on moving it FORWARD this weekend! #ad
I'm already thinking the power is a little sickly!

BTW Scott, when are we going to raz your neighbors with about 20 Cummins??

Well, I'm moving in about 4 days, so I don't want to raz my new neighbors, JUST YET. #ad
Maybe we could get a few guys together during the Cummins event on the 12th to do a "Drive By Smoking" of my old townhouse! #ad

Once we get moved in, I wouldn't mind hosting a bomb session. I'll have parking for 3 or 4 trucks in the drive way, and about 4 or 5 others nearby. Can't quite support a get together of "Rob" proportions, but it would be fun.
