Any RC hobbyists here?

Several of us at work bought Traxxas T-Maxx monster trucks. Its been too cold here to do much with them yet, but we plan on doing a point series (mostly for fun) oval, drags, TT and sled pulling. I havent even fired mine yet, but I already have quite a few hop ups for it. Here's the sled I bought

now that would be slick. . . Ive got two of them, a 2x4 2spd conversion w/ Trinity Sirio . 18 and the turbo plug and my beast is the 4x4 2spd w/the OFNA . 21 2. 6hp engine that will do 40mph and still pulling the front end in the air . Ive got throttle left so I know it will go faster, it's just by the time it gets to speed it's running out of range and quick.

I have heard the . 18 is the hot ticket when it comes to replacing the engine. It drops right in doesnt it? I have also read it is way easier to tune compared to the trx engines.

I was into airplanes, had an airplane engine-powered airboat for my parent's lake. Then I kind of got into gliders but never flew them. My latest deal is a . 30 heli. It flies pretty well but don't have the time or space. I'm thinking of selling it for an indoor electric Blade heli.



Anyway, I didn't know about those sleds until last week. I went back to Iowa/Illinois and went to an old model train store. Well, they had since expanded and started carrying some R/C too. I saw a sled there and there was also a video playing about them. Pretty cool. I liked the scale tractors they use!

both the . 18 and the . 21 are drop in's, however, these engines are no longer made. . 23 is now the big motor of the 1/10th scale.



both tune very easy and make lots of power. but my OFNA . 21 makes so much torque in the low RPM's Ive actualy twisted the ears off of u-joints :--)



I still have an old TRX engine that I'm trying to figure out what to do with.

I've got 3 t-maxx's sitting at my house. 2 of them belong to relatives that should have bought the e-maxx. They don't have the aptitude for the engine driven ones.



I haven't pulled them out since I moved about 6 months ago. They are fun. The only bad thing is my buddy who conned me into buying one isn't around anymore so there is no one to go bash with anymore. I'm not really into the racing stuff, I just like to piddle around with them. Now the pulls might be pretty fun! I might have to build a sled!

I have two K&B . 21" (3. 5cc?) nitro powered outboard boats and a 2-channel Futaba radio (with truck servos... ) back in MA in Dad's basement (collecting dust)... I never did get a chance to run either of them, but the previous owner said they go like 50mph... crikey!

I have a Kyosho 2WD "stadium" truck with a nitro motor.



My sons have some electric trucks.



The nitro trucks are a lot funner and way faster Oo.

I've got the same thing going on with my beast. I was kinda let down when the sticker kit came with HEMI stickers but now C stickers. . . gotta fix that :-laf

I've only got one R/C - but it's a 1/16 Tiger tank. All electric - with a sound card that generates engine noise, main gun firing and machine gun firing. It also has turret traverse, main gun recoil action, and both the main gun and machine gun light up when fired. It's a blast to drive - not particularly fast but those big caterpiller treads will go just about anyplace.
