IH pickup coming back?

Antifreeze recycling, does it work?

fwiw the local dodge dealer fleet guy and I were talking about this the other day. He says they are probably going to do one because they realize they have missed the boat but is probably 2 years away.

It might just be a rumor, but I hear Mexico has them, but emissions can't get them across the border for sales.

If there is going to be a 4500/5500

... they BETTER put in the ISC instead of the ISB!!!!!!!!

They they will recover "market share" quickly ... . I'll be there with cash in hand and drool on my chin. :--)

Ram 5500 with an ISC ... that would raise the bar conserably. Ford would have to put the DT466 in there F550 to keep up.

could be true

I have seen a ram 4500 in mexico, but it was a gasser. I do have a very reliable source that says there will be a 79REM(7 speed,9 tourque rating) transmission made.

I seem them quite often in McAllen, and the Rio Grande Valley. All with stake sides and loaded to the gills!!! All Mexican tags too. None with United States plates. One of these days I'll have my camera and snap a shot of one.

I saw one once at the Flying J in Matthews, MO. Looked like a 4x4, but without the diff housing. Sat up kind of high; looked like 19. 5s. Didnt get to look at it closely, though. Seems like I saw the red "Cummins Turbo Diesel" under the Ram 4500. Also, stakesides, pulling a BP trailer, probably all loaded to the gills. Question: If they make them for the international market, why do they use the tired old "emissions" excuse? The Ford 450 and 550s have the same V10 or powerchoke as the smaller ones. Why couldnt DC put in the ISB and the V10? Just need heavier drivetrain, and maybe lower gearing options.

I am completely with FATCAT. The ISC is the answer with ATLEAST a 7 speed. And I too will be first inline at the dealer to order mine with cash in hand. I love my 3500 but trust me if the opportunity arose in heart beat will step up.

Plane ride home from my layover in Chicago I sat next to a real nice guy who works for Mercedes Benz in their Fixed Based Operations side of the biz. I was asking about the Mercedes diesel some along with talking shop. He said Mercedes is trying to get something launched with Dodge on a medium duty truck with the Benz diesel to compete with Ford/Chevy/Freightliner/Peterbuilt, etc... . He wasnt sure what load rating they would be if it is a go but from what he was saying it sounded like it would be a F550 or F650 type of truck.

Check this one out...

I was stumbling across the Dodge site tonight and came across this brut. I'm interested in a medium duty type pickup as well and thought this was very interesting. Could this be the much anticipated 4500 or 5500?

If any of you know anything about other series of Cummins engines, this speculated horsepower actually compares to that of a ISM engine. Wow! :D Of course, this would probably go above and beyond the call of duty so I plan to see a ISC, maybe a ISL if we're lucky. This is of course if Dodge sticks with Cummins in this line of truck. Which they probably will, but there's still Mercedes to think about. :(

I glanced at a copy of Truck Trend recently and saw a new International pickup. I really like the looks of it and if it would offer a true international motor rather than a powerjoke, I would be interested. The Chevy Kodiak pickup also looked real good but I wouldn't have a Duraslacks either and especially an automatic transmission. I would have to have an Eaton Fuller w/split rear end for a medium duty truck.

Man it feels good to get that out.

Sorry the horsepower and torque ratings don't show. The text says that it will be a Cummins motor designed for the truck that produces 370 HP and 750 LB FT of torque.

Yeh, that's the cannonball express. Nice truck. Not sure if it will ever make production. Not trying to steer you away from the dodge scene, but aren't the Chevy Kodiak's available with a Cat diesel also? I have also seen were the international version of the powerstroke is a lot more reliable than the ford version. They have a lot less problems with the engines in their applications. Some people seem to think that most of the major problems are from Ford trying to get their hands in the electronics designs that cause most of the problems.

I have thought allong that DODGE was missing out on a great chance to increase it's commerical presents. I hope the rummors are true, and they come out with both 4500-5500 series trucks. I believe not just the commercial end would recieve these trucks well, but also the trailering community would love to have them. Now days there are so meany large trailers, that a 3500 is under-rated to pull. I would be the first in line for a 4500, true crew cab, 4x4, diesel. I can only hope.

Check out the Dodge 4500 post in the 3rd Gen eng and trans forum. It might clear up a few things. It's the same deal Dc has been whispering about for awhile. I think they are just waiting for the bean counters over in Germany to lookthe other way.
