04 Pacifica Headlight replacement how?

regarding ford boy

I was wondering if any of you guys/gals ride sleds. I have for years been in and out of riding. I am back in and have been collecting Yamaha Phazers. Got a 92 yesterday that someone had long tracked and piped. We will see how she runs. Just waiting for the snow.

Dave :)

I ride quite a bit. In fact I moved from NY City area to Upstate NY to be in the path of the Lake Effect Snow coming off Lake Ontario. We got a late start to the season last year, but got 13 feet of snow in 10 days. There was some good riding after that!

Later,

Joe

I have an 03 AC F7 Sno-pro. In Indiana the chance to ride it is not as common as some of you lucky ones. I love sledding though - hopefully we get a real winter this go round.

i ride a little when i can get a chance to go i have a 91 exciter that has bad rings in one cylinder im going to get to fixing that one of these days and i also ride my joy polaris 45th annivesary edition rmk 800 with the 151" track

YES I DO , AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE IN VERMONT - 03 SKI-DOO MACH Z 800 TRIPLE , BORED OUT TO 1000 CC , AND EVERYTHING DONE I CAN HAVE DONE TO IT , 220 PICKS

I are one... Only get out 2-3 times a year though. . Have a couple late 90s Skidoo Touring sleds with 380s in them...

Nothing fancy, but we have fun... My wife's cousin has 4-6 old sleds, late 70's, early 80s mostly artic cats with the 340 in them. We go up once a year for a ride on them. . Usually spend more time working on them than riding them, but we have a ton of fun. One of the rules if you cannot have any clothing newer than the sleds, so it is all carharts, open faced helmets with goggles, etc...

Regards,

Bryan

Another Rider here,

But our snow belt keeps moving and now I have to trailer almost 2hrs to find the nice trails that aren't iced over so I don't over heat.

I run a 04 RX-1 and the wife has a 96 Vmax 600 XT. If we start having more snow locally she will get a 4 stroke. gotta love not dealing with 2 stroke oil.

Any of you guys piped a Phazer back in the day. I found one the other day with a pipe on it. Talking to the Yamaha dealer, who says go back to stock. Pipe = problems. I have not got the carbs apart yet to see what the previous owner had in there. Heres to snow!!!

I can tell you that in my experience I have NEVER seen a pipe that made more horsepower on a Yamaha than the stock one. They made more noise, were more peaky(which some folks interpret as more power because it hits harder) but made the same or less horsepower across a narrower RPM range(I've got 2 buddies with dynos). After modding my old V-Max I gave up and stuck with stock.

My 2 cents.

Joe

What I have read most Yamaha riders who pipe thier sleds are also doing work on the carbs, clutches and everywhere else for power. I have not heard of any one just changing the pipe for power.

I would go through the carb and see if changes were made there as well.

your dealer is a idiot! the reason they did not make more power is because you dealer did not clutch for the pipe. if the old pipe makes its power at 7200rpm and then the new pipe makes power at 8000rpm and the sled shifts at 7200 do you think you see a increase in power from the new pipe?? most dealers have now idea how to clutch they just know what the manufacture states for ramps/weights and for springs. and that is just for the primary the shift rate is determined mostly but the secondary, and changes to the helix and spring can make huge changes to the shift characteristics and then the shift rpm.

Pulled the carbs off the Phazer and found some rust and crap. Took note of the jetting and bought some new jets. Have yet to put her back together. But working on this is like the First Gen I have... . you have to put a wrench on it to make improvments. I don't mind. I talked to Olav Aaen today on the phone about clutching. He gave me some advice. I appreciate that kind of business... . talking to the owner.

Nice sled pictures. I will get some up soon.

Used to all the time. At least you guys have a chance for snow. I used to live in NY and now in VA. Hardly a snowballs chance in hell for snow here. I miss riding. Hope you guys have a good winter.

Say being red and white would put that phazer at a 1990-1991 at the earliest. Is it a PhazerII? Man I loved the phazers in the 80's they were the knight rider of the snow.
